Since I'm here in London and going to the game Sunday I might as well start this puppy off...
Went to the NFL Rally today and it was awesome. Tons of old players showed up and talked about the matchup between the 2 teams. I didn't know that this is the 100th game between the 2 teams
Anyways I'm hoping that the Dolphins get their heads out of their butts and come to play tomorrow

How awesome that you're going. My favorite games when I go are against the Jets. Hopefully Miami can pull one out for you. Go Fins!

I don't see how the Phins O-line can hold up against the Jets DEF line. But you never know I didn't see the Eagles line holding up against them either. So if they can get a turnover or two they'll have a shot.

Hmmm,. My guy Brandon Marshall on a stage where he can show the world what he does. He lives for these moments. Not to mention he will try to make up for last weeks blunders.
My prediction.
Jets Win 34-17
Marshall 8 catches , 116 yards, 2 TD (Brent grimes really good but hes too little)

Seriously - more passes incomplete on first down, the most obvious run on 2nd down (Tannehill is NEVER under center), then another dump off on 3rd down. I sure wish Miami had a QB that could throw the damn ball down the field. Pathetic. Notice the Jets let their qb throw the ball downfield. Remember when I said over and over for YEARS the issue is they can't throw the deep ball? I rest my case - it's hurt this team. Tannehill has taken a step back - good thing we locked this guy up though for $100 million right? Defense looks uninspired. I've never seen such a predictable offense. And a defense that could care less. It's almost best if they lose 35-0 today, so we can clean house. Which will lead to more years of rebuilding - but everyone knows we can't win crap with the current regime. All I know is it's disappointing how Miami has made every bad move. And we have a QB who is not a leader, and never will be. Miami will be lucky to go 4-12 this year. Look at the schedule - they aren't going to be able to beat many. Jets are going to look like Super Bowl contenders today. Just watch.

OMG - nice pass - another 1 yd pass that he can't even complete - good thing we revamped the WR corp - you know it was their fault right? It's pretty apparent that Tannehill is a PROBLEM and not part of the solution. We'd be better off paying Matt Moore a few million a year to run this offense - what a joke Tannehill's contract is - cool - we are stuck with this bum.

Agree with you. Jets got pressure... but thats to be expected on a screen set up like that. Thats a very very very easy throw to make. He managed to throw it too high and out of bounds. Incredible really how bad he has played...

Yep. Run on first down sometime... Lamar Miller has been the Dolphins best player on offense, and somehow play calling and people who only read stats have contributed to all of this negative talk about him. Yet on the few times this season hes had the offense going, and running the ball down to the 2 and 1 yard lines, the Phins in turn have passed it 3 and 4 times in a row from there.
Philbin continually getting them in an early down hole, without even giving Lamar and the run game a chance.

As much as I don't think Tannehill has looked very good, he does need a little time to do something. I am watching the same thing with Stafford in Detroit. Hard to do much with no time
chitownbears22
10-04-2015, 09:23 AM
Tannehill snapped the ball way to early in the play clock on that sack right there. He needs to use that time to move players around to figure out what the coverages and where the pressure is coming from.
This is just bad QB play.

He is snapping the ball with 10 seconds left on the playclock. It is a joke, watch the great QBs in the NFL, they never snap the ball that quickly (unless they go uptempo). Good QBs use that time to figure out what the defense is doing. They motion a WR or RB, they hard count to find where the blitzers are, etc. Tannehill does none of that. The OL can block who they are told.

When is the last time lamar miller had 20 carries in a game. Has he ever?
I ask myself this question every week since 2012 - or at least since he has been our starting RB. Seriously - what does Miami do in game planning each week? They never make it a point to run. They don't even give the running game a chance to develop, and rarely will you ever see back to back run plays in this offense.
The line is pathetic - Tannehill had no chance on that last sack - so it's 3rd and 19. Do we take a shot w/ Stills, Parker, Jennings, Cameron, Matthews to pick it up? Nope - another 1 yard pass. LOL. So predictable. They don't realize that that has no chance. We don't even get any pass interference calls, because they never take any shots w/ the WR's down field. Do you know why? It's because our $100 million QB can't throw it down field w/ any consistency. The coaches don't even have faith in him to let him make those throws.
And now we lost Brent Grimes to injury too - the only cornerback worth anything.
Even if Miami wins a game here or there (at this point not sure they can win anything) - how can anyone have confidence that they will win 2 or 3 in a row - ever? This team will not win a playoff game - heck they won't ever make the playoffs - with Tannehill at the helm.
Right on cue - another 3rd and 6 converted to a first down - I'd rather have Ryan Fitzpatrick at QB - yep, I said that :(.

Haha. He has the tools to be good, but he sucks pre-snap and that kills him post-snap. I think Hue Jackson is a guy who should be on the short-list for the Dolphins this offseason. He has done great things with Average Andy.

Tannehill can't read a defense - his in game when it counts football IQ is zero. All you hear in the offseason is wow Tannehill is making every throw in PRACTICE. He's the king of practice when there is no pressure. Once the real football starts, he's so bad. He's done nothing to fire up this team - to really the troops on offense or defense. He stands clueless on the sidelines just like clueless Philbin. I couldn't be more disappointed in this "rebuild" that is going to lead to another rebuild.

Look at how inaccurate those throws were though - come on Tannehill gotta hit those throws. At least they took some shots down field. Should be doing that a dozen times a game.

How bad is the Miami D huh? Pathetic to let Fitzpatrick run for 19, and then the TD to Decker. Another uninspired first half where we started with the ball in the first half. The decision should already be made for Stephen Ross - fire this bum and the entire coaching staff. I don't care if they go 1-15 rest of way, Ross needs to start completely over, and I mean completely. Tannenbaum was a horrible hire - start over and get someone in who is serious about making change for this franchise and let them bring in their own people. Can't keep firing GM one year, Coach the next, etc - Miami plays like they could care less - I expect them to completely quit in the 2nd half.

I've never been so embarrassed to be a Dolphins fan. It's week 4 - and the team has quit. And Philbin sits on the sidelines - doing nothing. He knows he's cooked. And he doesn't even look like it bothers him. Great job extending his contract another year - what a waste of a season. And now we have Suh and Tannehill locked up for years. Salary cap is a mess and we suck at every aspect of football. At least I have the Packers to root for. Those 2 teams couldn't be any more different.
Here comes the Tannehill INT's. Jets probably good for at least one pick 6. At this point might as well get blown out 41-7. What a disappointment. I bet those last 4 of 5 Dolphins home games will really be well attended now. We have made all 4 teams we've played look like Super Bowl contenders. Patriots will beat us by 50.

I know - just run the damn ball - you cannot sustain any long term success playing with the approach Miami does - pass every first down, never run it. Tannehill insists on floating every ball - fire it in there you bum! We will never have a winning season with this guy. I don't get how anyone can think this guy has any sort of potential in the NFL. He's shown no sort of leadership. Sure he passed for 4000 yards last year - how can't he when all they do is throw dink and dunk passes all over field? Love all those 0 and 1 yard passes - what a joke - I can make those throws too.
Tannehill needs to be sat down for Matt Moore - nope I'm not saying Moore is the answer, but make him think about what is happening here. He needs to be held accountable for what is going on here with the execution (or lack thereof) on the field. Not saying it will be better, but what if it is? At this rate Miami should just play for the #1 pick. But they will mess that up too.

God these announcers are horrible. They keep saying inaccurate things regarding the rules. Probably about the third thing I have heard during this game that was wrong and I have hardly been paying attention. Like here they were talking about does the defender have possession of the ball yet. That doesn't matter, what matters is does the runner still have possession of the ball or not. Ball can be coming loose and defender recovers it after. Jeez get these guys off TV

All i have to say is miami's coaching staff are idiots. From the 4 and the 2.. 8 plays.. tannehill cant hit the broadside of a barn today and you dont run miller a single time?! Miller hasnt even looked bad.. has been effective on his touches.. but even from behind theres no reason he should only have 7 touches in this game.. hell he should have gotten that many on those 2 sets of downs!

Agreed - no alternative at this point - game wasn't even as close as score indicated - not that it was even that close - but you know what I mean.

Dolphins offensive line is horrible. Need to make changes there or the entire season is lost. Tannehill doesn't have any time in the pocket

Another rough week. With a bad front seven and o-line it would be hard for any team to get a win. We have seen Tannehill have success when the running game is going and he has time to read the field and step into the throw.
The reason they don't call so many run plays is Lamar Miller needs space to get positive yardage. The only way to get it to him in space is to run out of the shotgun or misdirection. If you line him up in a normal formation he gets hit as soon as he gets the ball and he is not the type of runner to break tackles or run over people. He can be successful, but not with the blockers Miami has.
The front office made a huge mistake by ignoring the o-line in the offseason. Not only is are the guards horrific but Pouncey looks like he's taken a step back since his injury.

The line can only block their assigned guy. The Jets were rushing 5-6 all game and Tannehill could not figure out the protection. He had his RB running from side to side to try and pick up the blitz. That is sloppy QBing in the 40 seconds between plays. The OL is only as good as the pre-snap read. And in this case, Tannehill has the reading skills of Ray Charles.

Thinking about getting Long John Silver's today for lunch for some fried fish!
In all seriousness though, really happy with the Jets win, but they need to crack down on those penalties(even though a few I thought were completely bogus)
But, opinions aside on the dolphins-to hold any team 0-12 on 3rd down, and 0-4 on 4th down is a huge success!
Ivory had a career rushing day, Marshall went over 100 again for the 3rd straight game which hasnt been done on the Jets since Toon in 88.
Feeling good on a Monday.
But hey, dont forget the Dolphins broke a record too...shortest 3-Out drive...21 Seconds which beat the previous record held by the Steelers (25 Seconds) ;)

The corner blitzes by Buster Skrine were killing them. I wasn't on board with the Skrine signing in March, but I am very happy for it over the past couple of weeks. I think he did more last week than Kyle Wilson did in 4 years here. Bowles has just as good defensive mind as Ryan, but his ability to focus on the offense effectively as well is showing so early in his head coaching career.

Bowles was #2 on my list of coaches I would want Chicago to get this offseason. Luckily they got #1 on that list with Fox. Bowles is very intelligent and players want to play for the guy.

I was all aboard the Dan Quinn bandwagon from the get go, and was a bit disappointed when they didn't wait for the second interview because of the Superbowl, but after doing more reading on Bowles, I became far more enthusiastic they took him instead. He has what seems to be a calm and demanding coaching style, while still also being someone the players can take to as one of their own.
I liked Rex, but he turned into more of a buddy/friend than a coach and it showed in the past few years. A change of scenery was needed for both parties, and I'm loving the view and direction we have right now(even though its still early in the season)
