Hey, at least they're not offering Jay Buhner's rookie for $9.95 as some kind of special deal anymore. MLB.com has the absolute worst prices on cards I've seen anywhere that doesn't rhyme with raigslist.

Trying to take advantage of "baseball fans" that are not quite in the hobby of "card collecting". Yeah, they may offer a game-used card with each offering, but to me common sense says you're not getting an Albert Pujols or a patch card #/5.

Frank (yelling): What the hell did you trade Jay Buhner for?!? He had 30 home runs, over 100 RBIs last year, he's got a rocket for an arm, you don't know what the hell you're doin'!!

Steinbrenner: Well, Buener was a good prospect, no question about it. But my baseball people love Ken Phelps' bat. They kept saying 'Ken Phelps , Ken Phelps'.

Sorry, couldn't resist, everytime I hear Buhner's name, that scene pops up in my head.

Yeah, as a young Yankee fan, it killed me when they traded Jay. I never understood Steinbrenners obsession with guys like Phelps, Balboni, Kittle, and if the on-field managers hadn't put a stop to it, Hensley Meulens would have joined that list of guys who would strike out 150 times, hit around .220 and MAYBE break 20 HR and 70RBI. It's a miracle he didn't go out and snap up Cory Snyder, Pete Incaviglia and Rob Deer, too!
