Andre Drummond - Hold or Sell?

I've accumulated a decent Drummond PC since 12-13. I haven't really bought anything of his in almost 2 years and haven't been following his sale prices. With the Pistons hot start, I am considering unloading them. Wondering if now is the time?

Being a big man, I'm thinking if they make the playoffs, buyers will be more interested in guys like Reggie Jackson, KCP, and Stanley Johnson. Any thoughts?

Actually pulled the Select Gold Auto /10 myself from a single box when I was PCing him.

Unless he is averaging 20-20 for the season, with an All-Star selection, the prices will not increase. He could average 3-3 or 13-13 for the year, price won't change by more than 10%.

i would check and see if his prices are up a good amount since this season has started, if so i would probably list them tonight for a week, cause starting next monday the team could easily lose 3 in a row, and hes unlikely to be averaging almost 20/20 after this next week. put them in auctions starting at a good price, add the free buy it now, and hope they get a bid or bid up to a high amount.

Yes, it's on card. That's why I like that version more than the Gold RPA /10 from Select, since it's a sticker. I pulled that one myself too, which adds some sentimental value.

I never got his NT RPA. I just hate the 12-13 design. Terrible IMO.

It was PC. Haven't bought anything Drummond in a couple years. I've changed my focus to some other stuff, so I've just been waiting for the right time to let them go.

Personally I would probably wait to All-Star break to sell, I think hes gonna have a great year and should get to the allstar game and Pistons should be making playoffs this year. depending what seed it looks like they might get maybe even hold to playoff time?

Hey, they're a team on the rise. Besides LA, Boston, SA, NY, and Chicago I can't think of a more storied franchise. If you mean hobby love, then I get what you're saying. Detroit players don't get much love.

Agree with you on that. They have 0 Nationally Televised games this year. I think the NBA will regret that when its all said and done. Their starting 5 is all 28 years old or younger. Only 3 players on the entire roster over 28 years old.

Nice cards! I actually pc drummond and have believed in him since he was drafted. I came into some financial problems a while back and almost sold it all. Luckily I received horrible offers on everything and I changed my mind. I still have my pc to this day, still growing into a monster just as he is. If I sold, I would have regretted for a long time.

he is already basically a lock to be an All Star this year...yes based on 4 games im saying he is a lock to be an AS....lol...

if the pistons can win 45games he might even end up like All NBA 3rd team Center or something....maybe a top 5 MVP candidate....say he has a season where he averages like 19ppg and 15+rpg with a couple blocks a game...on a rising team...

Yea, he is just a man child out there. Pistons lost but it was expected. Trap game. Pacers were desperate for a W and the Pistons are about to embark on a 6 game west coast trip. Would be thrilled if they went 3-3 out there and came home at 6-4.

Being from The D, I obviously had high hopes for him when he slid to us at #9 in the draft (crazy). He didn't improve much from 2 years ago to last year, but looks to have taken a big step so far this year (still very early). I wasn't expecting such a monster start to the season. Looks like I'm going to have to bank on him keeping it up and will most likely unload at the AS break or start of the playoffs (hopefully they get in).

no way will this be his best game ever....he might never have 30 rebounds in a game( i think he probably will)...but he could easily have a better game.....

he could drop 35pts with 25reb and some blocks/steals for sure....its not like a gimme....but he will have many 20+reb games so chances are he will couple those rebounds with an even better offensive performance than last night...

I know it's only four games into the season, but thus far he's averageing 20 and 19.5 to go along with 2 blocks and 2 steals a game. He killed me last night in daily fantasy.

the time to sell is now or at least very soon, the prices jump the most when any player or especially a semi-star+ player breaks out and starts doing really good. and its just after the start of that surge that prices go up the most, he could avg 20-20 for the year but prices wont keep going up throughout the year at a high rate. people will just take those stats for granted later on, not that hes gonna avg 20-20 anyway, but 17/15 maybe. you gotta sell stuff on the way up, not once its at the plateau or dropping.

I wouldn't sell Drummond now. His prices are not that high and I don't see any reason for them to drop anytime soon.

Well he doesn't belong on those bins to start. But the Growth in price would be even ten fold if he continues to keep piling up 20/20. Then people would clearly see how special he is.

I don't see a 10 fold increase, but there will certainly be an increase if he keeps it up. Big men just don't sell as well as smaller wing players. His lowest end autos will probably experience the biggest surge, but big guys have the biggest burden in the hobby...especially guys whos cards weren't exactly cheap in the first place.
