Under 5 RPG at 6'9, under 40 percent from 3, under 50 percent FG Percentage and the kid loves to party more than anything.
3 years 46 million for what?

Usually it is based on potential....

That's just what the mavericks do. I like parsons though, and glad to see him being eased back into his minutes. I think it will work out as long as he gets and stays healthy. I know people are sleeping on them, but they've looked pretty good so far this year. Really excited to see how it goes once parsons shakes off the rust.

he was also a good friend of Deandre Jordans and used him as a pitchman but we know how that turned out

He thought Rockets would match.

oh i see, thanks.
Parsons is fine. I just didn't understand why they picked him up considering how much his spacing on the floor overlaps with Dirk's.

The standard of under 50 percent FG Percentage will kill likely 85% of players in this league.
Not a good reason

Paid for a player that had both potential and was capable to start for a "win now" team with Dirk's window closing. He was showing good signs in Houston and Mavs needed a SF at the time.

It probably has to do with Cuban not being able to sign any big free agents the past few years so he reached on Parsons.

Parsons is a really good player. If he is healthy, he's worth the money.
He's big, can defend decently, deceptively athletic, young and has room for improvement in all facets of his game.
He can shoot from deep very well, with a deadly pump-fake. Finishes well at the rim and has good court vision. Can rebound well and great on the break.
Overall, he's a very versatile, younger player with a ton of potential. We've seen what he CAN do (10 threes in a half? ! , HUGE dunk on Blake Griffin? HUGE dunk on Ibaka? "Kobe" move on Kobe, etc. etc.)
The injury was a real shocker. It concerns me that he was having back tightness issues as well. It worries me that he's too focused in off-court activities such as modeling, and a ton of pop-culture crap because he's got a big head from all the attention he gets for his looks. He seems very cocky. It can be good if he can stay on the court and let his game back it up. But right now he's a bench-warming pretty boy who's doing nothing to help the Mavs. Hopefully he'll ease back into the rotation and get his minutes up soon.
With a healthy roster, the Mavs can be a good team. Parsons is an excellent fit with his deep range shooting, and his slashing ability. The Mavs have no slashing attackers other than Parsons. When Dirk posts or gets doubled, everyone is standing around watching. I'm very excited for Parsons to return, but I'm still worried about the future unless he can show some maturity.
