I thought this would go well with my PSA 9 Bird/Magic RC.
I got pretty lucky wit the last pack I opened but this one is not getting ripped.
To this point PSA 9 is the highest grade for one of these packs.

I'm starting to get the urge to rip a box of these cards.

I'm working on the set raw right now. I also have quite a few of them that are PSA graded so at some point I will probably tackle a graded set. It's a very interesting set and kind of a bear to collate.
These packs are very easy to reseal so I caution anyone buying packs to make sure they are buying from a reputable seller. It's not as bad as what goes on with 1986 Fleer but there are a lot pre-searched packs out there.

Cool item. I bet the gum isn't a Mint 9. ;)

I am confused on the set....I own about x30 panels...but the numbering makes no sense. Some panels have two identical cards....but the 3rd is the only one different....wtf?
Such an undervalued set....loaded with stars and two huge rookies.

The reason it's weird is that Topps intended the cards to be separated into individual panels. Each panel is individually numbered because it is supposed to be it's own separate card. However, collectors consider the "set" to be all of the cards inserted into packs, not the individual panels. There is actually 2 of each panel in the set giving you a total of 176 cards. To combat this issue Beckett actually created a numbering system for the un-separated cards.
Here is a small article about the set that was in the Sports Market Report magazine several years ago.

Tradingcarddb.com has a nice checklist that I used to complete my set. Pretty tough to do without one

Yeah, you gotta have a checklist. Without one it's a nightmare.
It's kind of a pain even with a checklist. :D
