Why is KCP so cheap?

Kentavious Caldwell-Pope is averaging nearly 14 a game and the Pistons are having a great year. Why are alot of his autos under $10?

You can get hall of famer auto's for 10 bucks. At the end of the day he plays in Detroit and isn't a star.

He's more of a defensive player, and typically they don't get much hobby love. He'd really need to break out into an all star to see a bump in value.

I'd rather spend my $ on Drummond, Jackson, Johnson and arguably even Marcus Morris.
The horrible auto does come into play as well, but there are times that he tries...

Brandon Jennings was doing a lot better than he was last year with DET and it didn't do nothing with his autos.

On a similar note, even Lamarcus has also been having a great year wit the Spurs now and it hasn't done much with his hobby love... :)

Both BJ and LMA had their time in the hobby spotlight. Once prices drop off it's very difficult for them to rise again even if the player starts to post big numbers. Look at Rondo this season. Even KD is having a solid season yet his prices haven't recovered.

It doesn't seem like KCP will get a lot of hobby love. That can be a good or bad thing depending on how his collectors look at it.

if his autos were all like this i would have some for sure...but the "KCP" signature is such a downer....no thanks...and im a fan of his and pistons...but him just writing his initials is not a sig...

He's becoming our go to guy down the stretch in crunch time. Him and Reggie are taking the big shots and making a majority of them. Had a career high 31 points recently. One of the better perimeter defenders in the league. I think his cards still have room to grow. Will he be a superstar? Probably not. But he can improve and where his prices are at now means they could go up.

I got his Immaculate Acetate /5 RPA one on the cheap his rookie year.

Even if he blossoms into a 20ppg guy look at DeMar Derozan. He averages 20ppg is on team USA and his cards are worth nothing. Some guys for one reason or another are just not collectible.

Milsap, Big Al, Al Horford, Conley, Lowry, ZBO etc are very good players and you can pick up their best rookies for under $50. It's crazy.

Wiggins puts up very similar numbers to DeRozan but sells for 10x as much.

Long story short KCP can develop into a very good player but if he doesn't do anything in the post season he has no chance to ever increase his value.

The only way guys significantly increase their value is post season success or by having ridiculous regular season numbers.

I have an Immaculate Tag RC /3 that I'm getting zero interest in. It's weird. Dude is emerging as one of the best defensive 2s in the league.

Exactly. A defensive 2 guard that is an inconsistent shooter on a small market team.

Not sure what you're expecting for his values, but being that he'll most likely never be a top 10 nba player, you're not going to get much out of his cards unless he mysteriously turns into a perennial all star and starts averaging 22-25ppg.
