Where is he at hobby wise? Seems like he took a fall from the heavens as far as prices go... Will he ever return to the top as far as prices go? What about in real life, do you guys think he can still become a superstar? Thoughts and discussion welcome

Great question and I would love to see the opinions of others. I hope he begins to perform better and gets more hobby love.

nah man dont really like his game. Not a bust but will be like a Marvin Williams type of top 3 pick. Id take Lavine, Randle, Wiggins, Smart, aaron gordon, exum, elfrid payton, rodney hood over him.

Same here buddy, I don't have a single card of his at the moment but I do watch the prices frequently, and he has fallen so fast

That's really funny you say that because I actually thought of Marvin Williams the other day, they play similar types of ball

If he is Marvin Williams....he is a bust considering the expectations....

Like literally everyone else i have high end of, he kind of sucks this year

I think he was to high when he came in to the league. I bought up some select cards last year but don't think I'll get to killed on them. Avoided NT and immaculate which were going for tons.
He has a few major things working against him for hobby love. Small market team that won't make the playoffs. Real deep roster that makes it difficult for anyone to put up huge numbers.
Pluses for him imo are that he's still only 21 and 70 games in to his nba career. Considering he's had to deal with a major injury I think it's to early to write him off. Next year will be the big year for when I judge him. If his numbers remain flat is be real worried that he's going to bust but if he can show some improvement I like his chances.

I feel a big problem is he shares the rock with mcw and giannis

Guys, guys, guys.... Wiggins efficiency is garbage, but he puts up 20 plus a game, and he is only 20 years old. If people are criticizing Wiggins then Jabari is going to wayyyy more criticized. T-Mac, Paul George, and several other NBA Superstars at the time didn't start making an impact until maybe their 3rd or 4th year. It's all about opportunity and circumstances, if anything, Jabari reminded us all that there was a reason he was a lottery pick by showcasing his talents in the rising stars game. Once the Bucks get rid of Monroe and MCW, it will be the Giannis and Jabari show, watch that usage go up fellas.

Never had a good feeling about the guy. Studied his game and background like crazy. He's Mormon, and so there was speculation that he'd end up at byu. I worked w a bunch of guys that went to school there. Watched as much of his HS footage as I could and watched a bunch of duke games. Was always more impressed w hood. :)
I think he'll top out as a Glenn Robinson. Think he may make 2-3 AS games. Don't think he'll ever lead his team anywhere. Not sure what that'll do for him hobby wise. This will only happen if he can stay healthy though.

I've been following Jabari as close as anyone, and I feel that his ceiling is closer to Amare Stoudamire than anyone else, prob prices too. I have no doubt he'll be a solid all around player with some explosive dunks, and will most likely make a few all stars which is great, but hobby wise I'm not sure he'll ever catch Wiggins again. With that said once him and Giannis are in full form and they can put something together in the playoffs, I wouldn't be surprised if the prices picked up a bit considering the hype that was around him initially. As much as I wanted to keep the NT I had to let it go before the prices kept on dipping, I'm hoping to pick another one up when they come down a bit more.

To many solid players on that team he gets suck behind giannas, middleton , and monroe

He's slow, not particularly the most athletic (which limits his ceiling a lot more than Wiggins), and doesn't play great 2 way ball.
Everyone was projecting him to be Carmelo 2.0, but he just doesn't have that pure inside out scoring ability like Melo does (who's averaged over 20ppg since coming into the league). His shooting form is quite awkward and he fades and doesn't get good balance on his jumper, and it's evident he's not comfortable beyond the arc as he pretty much has nada 3 point attempts on the year.
Product of the chitown hoops hype machine, IMO (also happens with a lot of new york prospects).
Shared my thoughts last year...can't believe the prices people were paying for him..
He's like a very poor man's Elton brand...
He's not even getting better...terrible rebounder...too

True that :)!
Only guy that may become a superstar in this team is Middleton. Jabari may be better off to another team that lacks talent

Middleton?? Seriously? I don't think so...
Jabari and Giannis still got lot more potential in my opinion... but you are right, Kidd doesn't play Jabari very well...

His lack of 3 point use is a major concern. The team has poor spacing as it is, and utilizing it would make both himself and the team noticeably more effective on offense. Considering he's undersized for the position, he not only needs to be effective in the offense, but he needs to be enough of a plus to make up for the mismatch at the other end. This hasn't happened, and the only way to cover it up is by giving him a rim protector as help.
He seems heavy as well. He still dunks things you'd never expect someone his size to be able to dunk, but he lacks an explosive first step amongst other things. This "extra baggage" could be a result of him playing the 4, but if that's the case then we have a real issue.
His shot mechanics aren't pretty. I know, mechanics aren't everything, but he's scoring elmost every basket in the paint off drives and cuts. It wouldn't surprise me if he lacks confidence in his shot, even though he shot almost 36% from 3 in college. Lock him in the gym this summer with Giannis, MCW, and the no J crew, give them shooting coaches, and make them WORK. This will be his first healthy offseason with pro experience. He can still become that perennial all-star most were expecting, but I think this is a big year for where the rest of his career goes.
I was nervous about how he and Giannis would fit when they drafted him, and I think this offseason is a big deal for them. I have no idea who they draft given their current roster, though I like Jamal Murray as a player. They have to make moves and up the usage of those they want to become franchise players. It's a cluster of good, but not great players who can be developed into strong players, but they're biting off more than they can chew. Middleton, Giannis, Jabari, Monroe, followed by starter potential players in MCW, Ennis, whoever their lottery pick is. They have valuable players, they have picks, maybe it's time they chase someone like Ingram by trading up. They're just so locked up from the 2/3/4 spot right now, and I haven't seen a 5 that fits the team well, nor a point guard except maybe the 5'9 Ulis. They've gone from a frontcourt logjam to simply a logjam.

Jabari Is the best example that Last years Rookie class Is so overhyped!!!
This years class looks so much better!
I hope he can increase his productivity in the 2nd part of the season.
As of right now, he pretty much underperforms. Below expectations!

He's still only 20, but odds of being a hobby star at this point are low. Could still be a good player.

Damn, sounds like we should take this rabid dog out the pasture and drop a hot slug in his head. :-/
Hobby star? Role player? Who knows....? Still far too early in my opinion. But from reading many of the BO posts here, he's been drinking from the same glass as Olawikandi.

This, pretty much. I mean clearly there is no part of Jabari's game right now that you would consider all-star level, but I'd have a hard time even picking one that'll be there in 5 years, short of some MAJOR offseason improvements.

Another solid Duke player that unfortunately does not/will not translate for the NBA Hype machine. Kid is a good basketball player but he doesn't have "star potential"; the kind that gets you commercials and constant ESPN highlights.

I'm curious as to his trade value. I hate the idea of trading someone who says they want to be a one team for their career player, but with teams actively trying to move Griffin and Howard, they might have the assets to land Brandon Jennings, Blake Griffin (if the Nuggets report is true), and Howard while keeping Middleton and/or Giannis. It's a complete pipe dream, and I don't expect them to do anything, but going all in could work if they did that.

He needs to add A LOT more to his game if he ever wants to have a shot at being an All Star. As of now he's a slasher that only plays off ball to score the majority of his buckets. His midrange regressed from last year. He needs to work on his handles, his shooting, his passing ability, etc etc

He's barely a year out from major knee surgery with no off-season to work on anything. This team isn't about the NOW, it's about the future. He's 20, give him an off-season or 2 to work on different aspects of his game. I still believe in this kid and the Bucks. Not athletic enough? You guys are nuts.
