That's what they say will happen if you set something free isn't it? I didn't really believe it until today when a woman knocked on my door. Was it an old girlfriend? Nope, just a mail woman with a package and all she wanted from me was my signature. Kind of a bummer, but she wasn't that attractive anyway so let's get to the package.

Inside the package was a card that I have had before, but sold in Nov. of 2013. I don't remember where it ended up, but in the time since there hasn't been a sale of another, that I can find anyway. This card, the card I sold in 2013 popped up on eBay a few months ago with a high BIN. It was in Korea, and I, along with many others let it sit. I didn't even watch it, but I saw it got re-listed at least once with the high BIN, before disappearing for a short time. Finally, a couple weeks ago it gets listed again but as an auction with a .99 starting bid. This is when I got excited because I felt I could get the card this time at a much lower cost than ever before. When the dust settled I was the winner, and although it went for more than I expected I was still glad I won it.

I love stories like that. Once I missed out on some major cards for my collection and then was able to pick them up years later for pennies on the dollar. Felt great.

Great story man, these cards go for way cheap now, compared to the crazy prices upon release.

Guess it was meant to be. Just like a wise poet once said:

If you love something let it go
If it comes back to you it's yours
If it doesn't, it never was
Hold me down, Baby

I love a good story behind a card or memorabilia piece.

Thanks! It really is a small world after all. lol

Thanks! I did spend much more than I expected on this card, but it is what it is. You know it's true what they say; it only takes 2 people bidding to have an auction.

Yeah some of the first year Flawless diamond base cards never come up for auction.

Thanks! Yeah, some fell farther than others. There are still a few set collectors looking for this card. I've already been notified here by the under bidder for this one. I still paid about the same price I sold it for back in 2013. Btw, great quote. lol

Thanks! I really think so to.

Thanks Joe! That means a lot coming from you.

I love a good story behind a card or memorabilia piece.

Thanks a lot! I usually don't post mail days, but I thought the story would be interesting to some people.

This reminds me of my Jordan Platinum Portrait insert. You know the one...yeah, when I got onto online forums (Sports Card Forum), I traded that beauty for a couple autos. They were good autos, but that insert is timeless. I want it back!
