...... People posted card at or below eBay and a deal could be reached in less than 5 minutes? Seems like people want 125% of eBay now and claim the comp wasn't a reputable seller or their serial number is closer to the guys Jersey number so worth more. For those you "remember when" sellers I'm looking for Montana, Dez, gold ink, silver ink, five star rainbows /25 and other great deals! Can't check buckets so please leave some scans!

Remember when buyers used to pay at or close to market prices? Now it seems everyone wants a "deal", 60-70% of market. I'm not saying I don't do it every once in a while but it goes both ways

I'm stuck in the middle on this one. I'm still pretty new on here so I try not to say too much but I know what you mean OP, and then when I go to occasionally sell I feel this guys pain ^^^^ so it's a double-edged sword for sure. I'm normally happy paying 10% below eBay but sometimes even that is hard to find.

well even when the cards are priced 10% to "save me the ebay fees" people want to haggle anyway. so why not price them at ebay and work down.

Or when someone lists cards FS and never give you a courtesy that you gave them to inquire to say yes or no thanks!

Finding a good deal on here is getting harder... People tend to post stuff up here they won on ebay and try to profit on it... Im guilty as well of this... To me this site is really good for keeping up with the hobby... Finding a good deal on to buy here is much harder than finding a STEAL on ebay lately...

I offered you a triple hofer auto 15 percent under eBay. Which is what you were asking for in the thread you started, but you said it was too much. There's a lot of people here that don't deal with you cause you start a thread asking for 20 percent under eBay then ask them to sell it to you for another 20-30 percent under that. You're perpetuating the problem you posted in the OP. Hope this helps you see the light.

I didn't say you were asking too much. I said it was too much for me to afford at the moment...... My exact words "nice stuff but no thanks"

I didn't like the tone of this thread when it started. So I'm kinda not surprised to see it backfiring on OP.

i can remember the last time I purchased a box of Donruss Elite and it didn't have a Autograph inside, I was LIVID. I spent $105 at a card shop for a box and then contacted Donruss only to receive a Chad Johnson Game Used card as a replacement. I have not bought from Elite again "7 years ago", though I spent a fortune with them. For those who want, remember what was spent for those who have. Just saying I have Thousands of Dollars invested in my cards. Colle ting has completely changed with the use of Trading and purchasing sites. It's not worth breaking boxes open anymore. Collectors know that the current cards will be affordable in just a short time but the same collectors believe they can bargain for limited cards from 15-25 years ago the same way as the current cards. No, those cards are stuffed away in collections and are rare to find but collectors feel they can still ask for low prices ? I feel thrilled to find 90's parallels that I need and willing to trade higher or pay.
I'm not beating on anybody because those of us near 50 on up have witnessed multiple changes to our hobby.

Big fan of those 90s parallels myself. It's what made me love collecting in the first place but this latest change is rough..... Hard to get along with alot of these members.

But you had to know with your title and lead in it was going to turn into the nonsense it has become.
Whatever. Good luck with purchase.

bought and sold from this guy on multiple sites, I agree with him on todays market. he is easy to deal with buying or selling. everyone stop whining and either offer him stuff, or dont reply. pretty simple.

I have a Mohamed Sanu five star 14/25 (I think its a rainbow) auto RC. PM me if interested, but since you seem to be set on your pricing why don't YOU throw an offer first so you don't have to make these threads. If I like your price I'll sell it to you, otherwise.... well goodluck

Everyone else has chimed in so I guess I will too lol. I haven't been on here long but have already done deals with, from what I can tell, most of the regulars. I haven't had one case where I thought someone was being unreasonable. Some people go by book value, some go by eBay, some are in between. If you don't agree on a price or a trade then move on and don't take it personally.
Saluki, I posted the card we talked about yesterday on eBay. Who knows what it will end up going for. I also have some things coming in this week and I'll let you know if I find something for you.

I've dealt with you multiple times before buying and selling, so I don't have anything bad to say about you whatsoever. However, I think 15-20% off some of your wants is a bit unreasonable.
Think about it, Dez, Montana, and Jimmy G come from 3 of the best markets in terms of the hobby, five star rainbow autos are an extremely collectible set, and gold/silver ink cards, unless its a scrub player (which I'm guessing you don't want anyway) are also very popular. Maybe not so much on Jimmy since he's a backup, but again at a marquee position and a popular team.
Popular sets, teams, and players move rather easily, and people generally don't have to offer those at 15-20% off to move them. I know if I see a Dez at eBay value that I want badly enough, I'll just buy it.
If you can find those items at those prices, more power to you. But based on this thread I'm guessing you're not. Maybe just suck it up and buy what you want on eBay and pay market prices. That's what I ended up doing most of the time for quality pieces that I want. Just my 2 cents :)!

One was with the Santa Claus / Christmas card theme. Forgot what the other was but I've had them for roughly 20 years. If you find Nebraska let me know.

Just to let PetiesArmy realize that it sometimes takes a spark to lite a fire. Thank you Saluki for attempting to initiate conversation for those who trade with actions outside the box. PetiesArmy, I look for Nebraska Cornhuskers, what is it that you are willing to sell or trade since you are conversing in this forum ? Everybody has their own way of collecting in this hobby. What makes this hobby GREAT, is that there is a uniqueness of collectors. Everybody has a different way. Saluki, with his message may have created a way for PetiesArmy and I to trade ?
