I just don't understand the love for Kyre Irvin. How is he better point guard than any of the other guys? Got handle, but with his decision-making ...he sucks so bad !
He's so damn average. Honestly makes me want to Lance Stevenson over him (maybe not)

The Cavs might be onto something here...Anyone sense that they are practicing 3's for GSW? What if they actually tried shooting 50 three-pointers per game in the finals? Heck, what if they shoot ALL threes?

Look at LeBron talking trash when he's up by a lot! What a goon! So unlikable!

Detriot played well, they shut down the Cavs starters that's for sure. James played well, but the other four didn't excel.
It was the Cavs bench in Richard Jefferson, Delladova and Channing Fry that got the Cavs over the line.

Huh? The other four starters (J.R. Smith, Kyrie, Love, Thompson) accounted for 55% of the team's points, 46% of the team's rebounds, and 35% of the team's assists. Jefferson, Dellavedova, and Frye accounted for 13% of the team's points, 19% of the team's rebounds, and 39% of the team's assists (all nine assists were from Dellavedova).
The starters also shot 44% from the field and 56% from the three point arch.

Really wish Kyrie scored a bit more, he had like 14 points early on and couldn't hit much the rest of the game. I think Kyrie should have shot the ball a bit more; he was starting to pass the ball when I wished he'd shoot. I guess that's a good thing for him though considering he has been bashed about not passing the ball much (I've bashed him for it too). The game looked ugly in the 2nd and 3rd quarters for the cavaliers and if Drummond could stay in the game 40+ minutes I think it could have been a different outcome.

So JR scores more points than anyone of Detroit, hits more 3's that everyone on Detroit combined, yet, he was shut down?
And Jefferson, Delly and Frye only combined for 14 points. The Cavs won by 17.

Game 1 was the Pistons best chance of stealing a game in the series. They might be able to get game four if Cleveland goes into coast mode after being up 3-0. Still great experience for all the young Pistons. They still need a superstar piece for any chance of deep playoff runs. I am not a believer in Reggie Jackson, maybe he will grow up a bunch after this series and realize what it takes to lead a team in the playoffs. Drummond, KCP, and Johnson all seem to be gaining confidence. Just need to get Drummond to spend the entire off season shooting free throws, he needs to be on the floor in the final minutes.

The Pistons hung around way too long in this one.
LeBron, as much of a statistical beast as he is, he has no killer instinct in him at all.
The last time a Van Gundy talked smack to Jordan, MJ dropped 51 points. Throw in the fact that Stanley Johnson was also trashing on Lebron during and after the game (guess there was Chris Childs back in the day)...where is the motivation from LeBron to just go completely take a dump on these Pistons?

LOL right...
LeBron doesn't need to take 30 shots a game. He could have dropped 50 if he wanted but that's counter productive to the teams success. He's more interested in getting his teammates involved

Lebron is a pass first player, who the hell cares about killer instinct or not. Once you make plays that win the game.
Finding fault where there is none.

So LeBron drops 22/11/6 and 27/6/3...
While only needing 35 shots in 2 combined to do it... and while shooting basically 60% from the floor...
And we're going to find a problem.

Yes, but the starters couldn't really pull away from Detroit. It was the Cavs bench while on the court that really split the teams.
The % you get isn't relavent, you could score 50% of the total but if you give up just as much you haven't really achieved.
The Cavs three I mentioned may not have achieved as much is personal stats, but the stopped Detroit and that's the difference.

Again, you stated that the Cavs other 4 were shut down. Going 7-11 from 3 point range is not getting shut down. If you want to argue that they were inefficient defensively while on the court, fine, but not shut down.

Nothing.
Just people continue calling him one of the best centers in the league while he was benched for the last 6 mins because Pistons did not want Cavs to do hack-a-Drummond. He almost cried when he couldn't help the team.
As I said many times before, his free throw will cost his team to lose in the playoff. Even Shaq would hit 1 out of 2. Drummond can hit 1 out of 4.

Wow, some really inaccurate analysis by some posters in this thread. Oh well. Truth is, the Pistons played very hard and gave the Cavs a great fight, but the Cavs' big three - along with Thompson's offensive rebounding and Delly's great decision-making - were dominant tonight.
Good game so far. This might be the best series of the first round. All of the of the other series have been pretty boring.

So is Drummond going to get suspended or what? Everyone is making a big deal of Isaiah Thomas' likely suspension, but Drummond's elbow to Lebron's head was worse. I think the media is late to this one, but by tonight wouldn't be surprised to hear some news from the league.

Shaq has about 58% in FT. This year GS has 56.3% on eFG%. This accounts for the adjustment with 3 point shot. This means, hack-a-shaq actually will give you disadvantage in a long run.
However, for Drummond, his FT% is 35%. This number is so bad that even the worst offensive team (Lakers) has 46% in eFG%.
By having Drummond on the court, would his defense turn the other team eFG% down below 35%?

Not like LeBron hasn't been throwing elbows throughout the series. LeBron is just soft, would grab his head if he twisted his ankle.

Guys use elbows in the paint all the time. Initiating contact, using the off hand, etc. is all part of the game. Sometimes he he gets away with it, sometimes he doesn't.
Blind-siding someone with a forearm to their head away from the ball is a completely different thing.
Also, hard to call a guy soft when he has only missed 80 games in his entire career. That's about 6 per year, half of which were just normal resting days.
