who do you think will end up being the better player in the NBA?

I pick Gian but I hope BOTH players have a long and successful career.
Between use 2 I believe Warriors, Spurs and Thunders days are over. Wolves are about to hit Elite level real soon.

Giannis is more complete.
Wiggins plays a bit too wild at times.

Probably the guy that gets away from Minnesota or Wisconsin first :)

Thank you.
I'm taking Wiggins, but it might be because I'm biased. Giannis was really impressive toward the end of the season.

I like both! Both have incredible ceilings but Wiggins has just a little bit more twitch that could be the difference.
People slept on it but Wiggins made huge strides with the jumper and driving to the hoop. He far less reliant on post ups than he was as a rook. With Thibs molding him, you have to feel great about his future.

Giannis all day, everyday for me. Not knocking Wiggins, I'm just of the opinion that Giannis is going to become a transcendent type player. His production exploded towards the latter half of the year when he was tasked with more of the offensive burden...and he did it without being a consistent threat from the perimeter.

Giannis will be a more complete player, though I'm interested to see what Thibs can do with Wiggins. Giannis is a jumper away from giving us something we've never seen before though.

Toooooough call
A bit like comparing Durant (scorer) with Westbrook (versatile). I voted Wiggins, he's a pure scorer that's becoming fairly versatile, I think he still has a lot ceiling left

that is really tough. I think antetokounmpo can revolutionize the point guard position with what he is doing. I also think wiggins can be very good. A lot of people seem to be overlooking him now because he did not live up to the extreme hype for him in his sophomore season and also because towns looks like he will be the face of that franchise.

It's close, but I'll go with Wiggins. Giannis has tons of potential, with his length, speed, and agility, but from what I've seen, Wiggins is improving at a quicker pace. Wiggins style and build actually remind me of a young Penny Hardaway at times, and I've never seen a better likeness to a young Penny from anyone else. He could really be special and I'm rooting for him. I like Giannis a lot too, but he's yet to really wow me like Wiggins has. It also looks like Minnesota could be an amazing team in the coming years and I don't know if I really see the same upside with Milwaukee.

^thats kinda odd because Wiggins is a wing and Giannis is now a PG [Penny was a PG as I'm sure you know...].
Wiggins ultimately could have a Pippen-like ceiling, while Giannis' ceiling is well, through the roof, so to speak.

Wiggins needs to escape from Minneapolis, they don't seem to be becoming a power anytime soon.

I love both young fellas.
I feel both can be first team defenders and perennial all-stars but I'd vote for Wiggins as the Bucks are a joke franchise with no legitimate talent around him other than Jabari who I'm not high on, while the Wolves look like a future powerhouse with a player who should soon become, hands-down, the best center in the NBA ...

Based on what? Only improving 13 games with a starting lineup that included one rookie, two sophomores and a junior, a terrible coach who was thrust in when the old head coach died suddenly before the season, and a bench depleted by injuries?

Wiggins looks more like the 2nd fiddle to Towns now. While Giannis looks more like an all star next season. If the TWOLVES have one all star next season its TOWNS, Not Wiggins. Giannis has a much better ALL AROUND GAME than Wiggins as well. I like wiggins & want to see him develop into a great player but i would take Giannis on my team & play him at any position he wants haha

Cos he took 3 steps. Start counting his steps after his last dribble. Especially the 2nd dunk.
I hate the 'gathering the ball' thing they all do now..
As for the topic. Actually been a good debate. I hope they both reach their potential, but especially Wiggins with Thibs as coach now...

I had a feeling somebody would bring up their positions and that's a fair point, but Penny was also a magnificent wing player. He didn't just play point. I was really just comparing their style and build, not position. They are very similar players IMO, Penny (early years) and Wiggins. Muscular but skinny, long, and lean. Excellent footwork and baseline moves. Smooth fadeaway jumpers. Ability to hit the open 3. Both great at slashing to the rim.
Funny to measure a player's "ceiling" as if it's a tangible thing. You're saying Giannis could be better than Pip, and I think that's kind of crazy, but we're all entitled to an opinion. I like both of them a lot, but I don't know if I see either one of them getting to Pippen's level.

not saying either will, a ceiling is like a 'best case scenario'- everything has to break right, but these two guys we're talking about definitely have HOF ceilings, whether they ever hit that is another question... but they certainly have a chance.

Gathering the ball is still considered dribbling and doesn't count towards the two steps you're allowed.

I know what it is, but they're taking the mickey.
It's basically an excuse for taking 3 steps and it's getting worse....
I don't have a problem for example with the first dunk in this video. But do with the 2nd vs the C's, which is a blatant travel. He's not gathering the ball, he already has control of it and has done the whole time he's been dribbling the ball.

People care about the rules, not some schmucks opinion. Per the rules those are not travels, and have never been travels. Just because YOU don't like it, doesn't mean it isn't within the rules.
I hate people who think they are basketball purists but havent sat down and watched Magic, Jordan, Kareem, do the same exact things.

And then I realized the obvious...

Giannis is leading his team for true...Wiggins has one good play from time to time, but thats all.

Crazy what 2 years does. I was dead wrong on Wiggins thought he was a future top 5-10 player in the nba. I was very high on him but the kid just got no fire and no passion. He plays so nonchalantly like he does not even care. Every once in a while you still see the flashes had 30 last game but he just not consistent. He still only 23 hope he wakes up and realizes that he wasting his potential.

I did not mention the other guys I was right about lol. Also never said he sucked for 100 time just said he overhyped and was a good player but not great like a lot of people think. But this not the thread for that lol.

This sounds like a summary of Jeff Green’s years in Boston. Not a good sign for young mister Wiggins.

Wiggins cant make a free throw to save his life!!!!! I have more confidence in Shaq shooting free throws than Wiggins! How does a small forward brick so many. You get paid to play basketball, work on your Damn game. No wonder Jimmy Butler was pissed off with this team. No one wants to improve their game.
Quotes after last nights game.
"That's fans for you," Wiggins said. "We've got some s---ty fans, and we've got some good fans. That's just how it works."
And we have some shitty #1 draft picks that cant make a damn free throw.

Basically every Wiggins/Wolves take aged horribly.
The Wolves fans came out hard with Wiggins/Towns and then Butler.
Heck, a few of them even argued with me this past preseason that they'd be a top 4 teams.
Since then, there have been fewer and fewer Wolves fans showing up on this board.
Props to the few true fans who have stuck it out, tho.
