I don't do alot of grading. Never realized that a 9.5 with one sub of 9 was a big deal. Best of luck

Not a big deal to most. I just don't like that the 9 is the corners

As a fellow Newman collector, Good luck to you (And I'm not trying to be snarky). I hate to say it, but Beckett has lost there minds on corners as of late. From what I'm seeing, a 9 on corners is the new 10. I've sent in cards selected entirely on corners and receive 9's. I guess if the name isn't Kris Bryant, Beckett doesn't give a rip.

I have been hammered on corners as of late for some reason. All my pristine cards have been dinged for them even. I just figured it has to do with this years chrome. I usually do a good job with centering and corners, while I struggle with surface and edges at times.

I sent in 15 Newman autos
14 base
1 Gold
and youre right they are being weird about corners as of late.
Out of the 11 base
8 got 9 on corners 3 got 9.5(the other 3 got 8.5 I have no idea how lol)
the gold got a 9.5.
That is why if it is slabbed I like to stick to 9.5 corners for the most part unless its a good deal. don't care much about the other subs as much as I do corners because they are usually the easiest grade in my case atleast

I struggle with surface forsure. Yeah the past 2 years have been a little bit sloppy.

I bet my Superfractor auto comes back no better than 9, and probably 8.5 on corner. I hope for at least a 9 overall because a 9.5 could be a little unrealistic. The batch out right now has 10 Newmans. 1 could be not only my first BGS 10, but a black label. I guess we'll see in another week or so. Beckett is famous for disappointing me! I am working on my next batch. If these current 10 don't fair well, I will not be doing anymore.

Dang youre who bought that! I put in a few offers and never got a response. Well keep me updated on what BGS gives you on those I hope you get a black label newman that would be sick dude. I think I'm gonna send in my 2 oranges along with a few more base that I think have a good shot at 9.5. Just sucks to send them in and get 9/8.5 waste of money and better off raw.
