Default Ebay Issue: Buyer says shipped to wrong address, shows delivered

Let me preface this by saying this buyer has been an eBay member since Dec 26 of 2013 and has two feedback

I received a message asking about where I delivered the item as it showed delivered on 1/29 but the buyer did not get it. He later proceeds to tell me that I used the wrong address (I used the one provided by paypal, and I assume ebay, as I shipped directly through paypal/ebay). Buyer proceeds to tell me that is wrong he has taken a picture of his address (no clue what the hell that is supposed to mean to/do for me) and all his ebay and paypal address are the correct ones (the one I "didn't" ship to).

Now he is all "take care of this or I'll leave a negative to show people you don't send your items blah blah blah."

My two questions:

1.) Is there anything I can/should do in regards to the package? It shows delivered so am I supposed to call his or my post office?

2.) How do I protect myself from getting a negative? I shipped the item to the address provided, it shows delivered, not really sure what I did wrong?

I went ahead and opened a case before he could

Well if it shows delievered and you shipped to the address shipped on the payment you are covered and can have any neg he leaves removed with a quick call. There are three outs you have to get the feedback removed.

First that is clear extortion.

Second Ebay states if the buyer leaves a neg for non-delievery and the item shows delivered it can be removable.

They also say a neg can be removed if the buyer asks you to send to a different address than what is on Paypal.

I would do nothing other than out this buyer so we can all block him

Also a seller should never open a case in these situations. 9 times out of 10 when they do Ebay will find a way to put the blame on the seller.

When PayPal sends you the "receipt" for payment paid, to your email address, the home address of where you sent it should be on that receipt. Find the receipt and send a copy of it to PayPal or eBay or wherever the case is filed as proof that the mailing address is the same as where you sent it. It will be no blame on your part at all. I had one idiot change his address after purchasing cards then said I mailed to the wrong address. He was just trying to scam me and I sent the receipt to PayPal, case dismissed, no negatives and they punted the DB.

That won't be needed, when the payment is made the address that it is required to be shipped to is not only shown in the Paypal address, but also the Ebay item details. Ebay can view that and clearly see it was shipped to the address on the payment.

That said I shipped an item Tuesday, it was delivered Friday. Yesterday the buyer opens a claim saying they did not get it, the buyer escalated it to Ebay and they gave him a refund. I did not have to refund, they paid him off, but they should not have refunding him anything. This was a 91.00 item.

I had a mix up with a couple of high-end shipments since I hadn't updated my paypal after a move (thought I had, only had for eBay).

Took me a bit to figure it out, buyers were patient and helpful thankfully.

I'd just wait till he drops the neg & file feedback abuse.

Last fall, I had an item that I shipped through paypal, but it was misscanned and showed delivered to a completely different city. Buyer opened a case, I showed that the address that I shipped it to was his address. I called USPS and they confirmed that they had scanned it incorrectly but could not update it. Long story short, buyer won the case and I was out the $, but atleast he did not leave a neg.

Since the DC showed delivered to a different zip code you will lose 100% of the time.

1) If the item was ship in his/her zip code. The buyer must contact his/her USPS carrier and his/her local office. As far I can tell. You can call, but if the item isn't in transit. They will not care unless you fill a claim.

2) If the DC shows the same code. Contact eBay.
