Every qualification for winning that challenge was there, no sliding lane too far in front of the bag also. I just knew it wasn’t getting overturned as they don’t want to open that can of worms.
That's true and also probably too aggressive of a take by me. That being said, I don't understand what blocking 2nd would be. That felt like it should have been the call. |
There are certain managers that know how to steal games and there are certain managers that know how to give them away, unfortunately the Yankees manager is a giver not a taker. Name the last time Boone won a game that we thought there was no way of winning. 51-25 the best record in baseball and in reality I can’t figure out how.

They should have ran earlier in the count anyway. |
At what point do you make Wells the every day catcher. You can’t keep letting teams run all over Trevino, he is costing them a run or more every game and his hitting will never make up for his lousy defense. The Red Sox exposed him in the 9 steal game and unless Yankee pitchers don’t let men get on base it will keep happening.
What’s funny is I was about to be proud of the way they came back to tie it at 5 even if they went on to lose. That 10th inning by Holmes and Trevino killed that vibe.

As a fan I couldn’t be more happy for Stanton this year. I think almost everyone assumed he was totally cooked after last year. He’s looked healthy, locked in, come up with tons of clutch hits, and showing emotion and fire. Hope he stays healthy and keeps it rolling

I thought he was done after last year but he is a pleasant surprise and hopefully him and the team can be healthy for a nice playoff run. |

Well said. I think Stanton has been a stand up guy in New York. He's someone I really want to see do well. |
Today’s pitching matchup.
Cole Irvin vs. Luis Gil. I like the Yankees chances in this 3 o’clock my Mississippi time start. I doubt we will see Judge play again today as there were 3 opportunities last night for him to pinch hit and he wasn’t used. I think it is hurt more than the team and Judge are letting on. Although they had a spirited comeback thanks to Stanton and Volpe I was surprised that Soto was a detractor instead of a contributor as he has been good to step up most of the year. The orioles should consider yesterday’s win a gift as the Yankees didn’t bring their best effort and a couple of managerial moves were iffy at best. |

The Yankees usually like to give Stanton the day off when they have a day game after a night game, but with no Judge or Stanton this lineup would be vanishingly thin with only one legitimate power threat (Soto). |

He's playing and probably could have played yesterday but Yankees are always super cautious to a fault. |

There is something about Stanton that makes him likeable even if he's frustrated us fans the last couple of years. I can't say the same about Gallo or Hicks. I'm happy for Stanton that he's playing better this year! |
Jasson Dominguez is starting to look a little injury prone. Out for at least 8 weeks according to Boone.
Already having to play catch-up 1-0 Orioles Yankees coming to bat. Curious to see Judges first at bat.
Volpe lines out sharply to center on the first pitch.
Soto not looking himself lately.
Judge not missing much time should help.
Yankees down 1,2,3 although Judge struck out it didn’t look like he was affected.
Gil might not have his good stuff today. 0-2 count leadoff single to westburg and a 2 run homer to Mullins 3-0 orioles 1 out in the second.
Walking the number 9 hitter before Henderson doesn’t help. Line single by Henderson 1st and 2nd and here comes Matt Blake to make sure some more runs come in.

The kid was due for a clunker. Unfortunately the Orioles aren't the team you'd like to see it against. |
Rutschman line single to Soto bases loaded 1 out. Bases clearing double by Mountcastle 6-0 Orioles what the hell does Blake say when he comes to the mound.
Well now the question is does Gil even make it out of the second inning. Walk to O’hearn 1st and 2nd 1 out for Santander.
Santander 3-0 line single to Soto bases loaded. You can’t let Gil take this beating but yet the bullpen not even up.
Westburg Hit by pitch 7-0 finally taking Gil out. Tonkin coming up. No outs recorded after Blake’s mound visit. I swear if ever talking to pitchers during an inning is worthless it is Blake.
