Might want to avoid table 379. You will more than likely be buying "fixed" cards.

Can anyone explain the panini redemption replacement program to me? I have been waiting for a panini certified hometown heroes auto of Tom Brady for about a year now. From what I understand could i get a replacement for it at the national? Or am I completely off

Yes you can. Redemptions must be in the system (paniniamerica.net under your user account) and must have been there for 4+ months. That's really it. Worked fine... I got a bunch of old stuff exchanged. It was a sloooowww line tho... |
Had a somewhat good time today. found a pc card i have been looking for, graded a sick pull. But went to wrigley (saw puig) but left early so I could get back to my hotel (made it back at 10:30 chicago time)
While we were waiting on the bus to get us to the train...A lady (was high as a kite) winked at me and started rubbing my arms.... Nope wont be going to wrigley ever again... Anybody see anything of Trevor Plouffe or Kennys Vargas that they can remember? Probably a long shot.

If anyone wants to buy the VIP promo sets from me pm me. Looking to dump them.
|
Waiting in VIP Line now. Does anyone know how topps is going to regulate the not lining up until 11? Also if anyone had seen any Cordarrell Patterson or Justin Hunter stuff, let me know where.
|
Well, it looks like the topps line-up started as normal. No sign of swat team either.
|
Last night at the Topps Q@A they said the area would be roped off with security so people could not hover around.
Topps is pulling a Bait and Switch on their promo.
TOTAL BULL
Details on this, please? |
My brother, who doesn't collect cards at all, but was with me today for some odd reason decided to buy a box of 2013 Goodwin. Of course he pulls the one card that I wanted. He was almost disgusted with the whole box until the last pack when he pulled a 1/1 mini plate.........
and in the same pack an ELEMENTS REDEMPTION!!!! I am a mixture of happy and mad at him at the same time, lol! |
Just got home...what a great National! Got a load of '66 Topps for my set, a nice '53 Glendale, a George Kell Red Man w/tab, a few other Tigers cards and two major hits in boxes I broke:
2013 Topps Archives Buster Posey '83 AS Auto #'d 1/5 :flex: and 2013 Topps Museum Paul Goldschmidt Auto #'d 1/5 :flex: Opened a pack of 2013 Tribute and hit a Juan Marichal auto'd Mini (traded for Tigers) and my 2013 Gypsy Queen box had a Matt Carpenter auto and a Josh Johnson printing plate! Also my Hosmer Archives foil is #'d 001/199. So many Ebay 1/1's!! ;) A bonus was I got to meet some great people from this forum and just in general, which was the icing on the cake. :) Can't wait for next year! |

Ill make a thread when i get back home. 12 hour drive back to philly... Ugggghhhh |
forgive my tardiness on this as I was a little tired when I got home but a
BIG THANKS TO BLOWOUT!!! they really made the National fun and interactive with their raffles and having a nice spacious area for collectors to meet up. I hope they have their best National ever! |
Had a fun time today, started with a crazy morning, ended well, and I didn't spend as much as I thought I would or would have like to....but I stayed in my budget which was very hard to do...but had a blast regardless
|
Had a great time at the National. Got all of the Topps promos.
I was able to complete the whole 100 card Platinum set. For those who weren't there, they changed it up. Went from an advertised 25 card set numbered to 500 to a 100 card set numbered to 125. To be able to get a complete set, you had to be the first 100 in line for 4 days and hope you got a different 25 cards each time ... Buying a total 4 boxes of Platinum Pulled a Kobe Jersey Auto /49 from my NT basketball break. Pulled some other nice basketball stuff from Sigs. Met some great people from the blowout forums ... It was a fun but tiring trip! |
From the UD Wrapper redemption I got a Woods auto 8/20.
Cheyenne Woods. |
if anyone got a Panini sketch card that is for trade or sale from their wrapper redemption let me know

The nationals was a TON of fun! I picked up some sick stuff, my two best being: a Mike Trout Five Star auto /150, and a Manny Machado 2010 Bowman Chrome ref. auto /500! The Machdo is being sent for grading. PREY FOR A 9.5!

One complaint I had was that there really was no grocery or convenience store in close proximity to the convention center. My brother and I didn't have a car, so it wasn't all that easy to find a place to buy food or everyday items. (I figured the outlet mall down the street would have had a Target/Walgreens or something, but nope.) |
My complaint is that BGS kept raising the prices to get a card slabbed at the show and get it back that day. Advertised price was $25, but near the end it was $75! They say it was do to high demand so the price had to raise. Crazy.

Agreed! Thanks to all those I worked out deals with or got the chance to chat with. I'm already looking forward to next year! Although I must admit, I'm a little skeptical that Cleveland can live up to Chicago/Rosemont. |

BGS could have said the truth which is that they were full and couldn't take anymore submissions for the rest of Friday, or Saturday or whatever, but I'd do the same thing if I was them and that is just charge a price that 90 percent of people would take as a "we are closed" price and let those few people that think they need it done that day actually pay that price. I don't really know what else they could do other than say no sorry we are full. They brought virtually every single person that works there and people just turned in the most cards they've ever seen at one show... |

can anyone tell me how was the Nationals in Chicago this year? Some of my friends told me if was awesome while others said everything was too pricey or no good deals.
let me know since I couldn't go this year. thanks in advance. |
Cannot for the life of me figure out how the National is in Cleveland 2014, it was voted worst city in America to live and there is NOTHING around the IX Center to do.
No hotel that is attached (which was one feature I loved about Chicago having the skywalk option) Also, there are no decent places to eat that I could find nearby and no quality hotels. Why is Orange County Convention Center, Orlando not on the list? There is a ton of stuff to do close by and it would so much easier to plan a family vacation around Orlando vs Cleveland. I was looking forward to going again next year and truly hope the venue is changed soon. If not, I will be skipping next years event, and recommend everyone go look at the setup of Cleveland an contact them to let them know there are plenty of better places out there National Sports Collectors Convention – Contact Us |

There is so much more to having a National as "let's go to" _______ location. If that many people don't show up the dealers who vote on the location would stop going there. Could be cheap for dealers who's expenses are 5-7 days worth. The National has talked to other venues but they won't co-operate with what the National's needs (right or wrong) to have their site be used. I, too, wish it were in a better location that I-X, but it isn't. And I wouldn't mind going back to Cali or Texas. Orlando, not so much. For me the National is my mancation. I was thoroughly disappointed to see it in Atlantic City. Won't skip it though. Personally, I think because this is an out of the way location there should be a dedicated bus that runs all day from the show to a group of the closer hotels. That's how it worked in Texas in '86 and even Atlanta around '99. Maybe the I-X doesn't want that to interfere with their parking revenue? Could be a question for the Nat'l folks? Perhaps networking with people on here to ride share would help out. |

I can give you plenty of names of people who wouldn't attend if it was in Orlando. I already go there once a year in the spring or fall, no interest in going at the end of July. There are plenty who didn't go last year because it was in Baltimore. Hell, the west coasters on this board will tell you all about not traveling to it because of cost. We get it, Cleveland doesn't meet your personal requirements for a good National. There is not a site in the country that every collector will be happy with. |

Yes, I get all that, but say there were 100 places to choose from, this location would be and is in the bottom 10. Cleveland is a dump, plain and simple, read the reviews on the place lol |
