a judge did her job
Why do people keep saying this?
If he isn’t charged with a crime why would the Dodgers have to have integrity to let him go? Seems odd take to me that somehow it is the Dodgers fault the union and mlb have rules.
Wokeness and moral superiority. |
Your understanding of criminal law is quite flawed.
Anyway, Bauer hasn’t even been arrested after two months. And again I’ll state that people here are conflating facts and giving credibility to “evidence” that they can’t actually know with any degree of certainty.
Seriously. This part is massive. People want for him to have done the worst things possible to her. Odd... |
The reason why the restraining order would be denied is because Bauer never threatened the plaintiff. He never attacked her outside of their two sexual encounters.
Bauer doesn't have a criminal conviction for assault. He's anti-social and enjoys physically hurting women, but it hasn't yet manifested into criminal behavior.
If her attorney's sticking point was that they were dating, it would've been wildly irresponsible to issue the restraining order. |
That's your interpretation. How do you "know" the context of that phrase in a BDSM relationship. And personal responsibility should be an important consideration in our society and legal system. You believe otherwise?
We'll see if he's criminally charged.
It's not an interpretation. It was foreplay. They discussed having sex and flirted. She specified that she wanted to be choked and slapped. She never discussed being punched or even implied it. Pain does not equate to contusions. This is part of the BDSM process -- the discussion phase. With regards to personal responsibility, I was specifically referring to the position the judge had that the plaintiff was responsible for the harm inflicted on her. That she should have considered all the consequences of having BDSM sex. I think that's unfair. I don't think she is fully responsible for everything that happened to her. She could have both agreed to risky behavior while also be the victim of abuse. Responsibility can be shared -- it doesn't have to only be one person at fault. |
Nobody -- and I mean nobody -- can consider all the consequences of their actions beforehand. It's impossible -- humans have limitations. We are emotional creatures who naturally behave irrationally -- not purely logical. We don't process all factors and variables like a supercomputer.
It's just a weasel comment from the judge. She's putting the onus on the plaintiff because the legal system is predicated on personal responsible. It's a bunch of bull crap. The "give me all the pain" is an open-ended statement when not considering the context. It's a playful comment -- it was foreplay. She specified what she wanted him to physically do -- it's part of the discussion phase of BDSM. Nowhere did she say she wanted to be punched. This isn't Hellraiser -- we don't live in a hellish dimension where people are tortured for pleasure. Saying you want all the pain does not give a license for someone to do whatever they want to someone.
She did? Where? |
She did? Where?
I think it was the instagram messages. The ones with the Jessica Alba photo. |

Then I'm a little confused. The judge said her injuries weren't the result of him doing something that she told him not to do. |

The blurbs I saw made it seem like because she consented to some things then she consented to all of it. I think it might be that she didn't clearly set a limit, but I thought it worked the other way around where you have to consent to everything. The judge said the "injuries as shown in the photographs are terrible" but added, "If she set limits and he exceeded them, this case would've been clear. But she set limits without considering all the consequences, and respondent did not exceed limits that the petitioner set." |
And his leave was extended another week.

I’m kinda like who cares about the legal stuff. The guy is dead to me. I hope he never plays again. I know all the arguments that support him.. eh, I don’t care. If you beat and rape someone, even if they ask for it, the planet could use less of you. I don’t need to know more than that he did it.

Dude rape is such a strong word that you have no way to definitively say applies here. I’m almost positive that the people saying this stuff just be either a)~40+ years old or b)Californians looking to virtue signal. There are some on this board who just can’t get over the idea of the the bdsm/super rough stuff and it’s nothing but moralizing, like if it’s not for you that’s fine it’s not for me either but that does not make him a rapist. You saying that he is might be the most holier than thou nonsense I’ve seen in months Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

You’d have to think LA Dodgers knew his lifestyle as he was very public with how he lives. So the Dodgers organization is pretty stupid too for not steering clear of this lowlife. I think the Dodgers deserve to lose big here. Maybe they and other organizations will wake up! Imagine getting to the big leagues with the success he’s had and then this. With an agent supporting this lifestyle too. |

There’s almost no way someone under the age of 40 writes a comment like this. I’ll get hate for saying this and perhaps I deserve it but just because you or I am horrified by what Bauer’s kinks are doesn’t make him a “lowlife” or a bad person, plenty of girls are into the exact same stuff. She texted him between encounters and asked for him to be rougher the next time, so it seems she falls into that category Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Hah, I’m 46. Married with 2 boys who I will help steer clear of this lowlife lifestyle. Maybe that’s why the Dodgers had no problem signing him, because they think like you do. My take is that there are consequences for your actions. |
Get on with the game, let my dood pitch.
