Yeah, another error by Volpe results in the Yankees being down 2 - 0 already in the 1st.
But Boone said he's a good short stop.

fulltritty 07-29-2025 06:36 PM

Someone needs to smack that smirk off Volpe's face after the bush league pop up drop attempt that didn't work.

Even Boone was finally shaking his head at him.
But Boone said he's a good short stop.
Boone needs to run for office because he lies with the best politician. His press conference are unwatchable.

Aribasebal 07-29-2025 06:50 PM

These lineup switches are ridiculous. Why can't we have a consistent lineup day in and day out! Dominguez #2 yesterday and #6 today

fulltritty 07-29-2025 07:08 PM

Bellinger has been worth every penny this year.

fulltritty 07-29-2025 07:24 PM

I can't believe that instead of stranding another runner, Volpe gets a single to give them the lead.

Aribasebal 07-29-2025 07:26 PM

That run was all Dominguez! Doing things a great leadoff hitter should be doing
That run was all Dominguez! Doing things a great leadoff hitter should be doing
Yup, Maybe Boone can stop moving him all over the lineup and get him some consistency. The over slide could have been costly though.

fulltritty 07-30-2025 07:13 AM

Yankees come back to beat Rays 7-5 behind Bellinger, Volpe and Fried

Here's the death of any chance Jones will be brought up and Boone will probably mess with Dominguez's play time as usual.

Sources: Yankees trade for White Sox OF Austin Slater

It's a very Chaim Bloom/Mike Elias-type move.

So we stick with Volpe even while he's clearly broken, but won't call up one of the hottest hitters in the minors. Is Cashman trying to Costanza his way out?

He also dumpster-dived for older dudes that cost pennies to pick up.

spuds1961 07-30-2025 09:35 PM

For as much as they were trying to give this one away I give them credit for not quitting 5-4 11 inning win. Hopefully it spurs them on to bigger and better things.

So can we get some bullpen help or are the Phillies and Mets just going to get everyone?

I was quite shocked to go to bed losing 1 -0 and see them win 5-4 in 11 innings after having to tie the game multiple times. I'm not shocked to see Volpe with another error to lead the MLB now.

Yankees tie it 3 times in late innings before finally beating Rays 5-4 in 11

It is a shame that they couldn't score earlier for Warren as that was one of his best games this season. I'm impressed most that he only issued one walk since he is a walk machine.

Mandy1320 07-31-2025 07:11 AM

Not sure why everyone is expecting the Yanks to do something huge. It's the same song and dance every year.

Beat reporters say something like "Cashman gearing up for a big trade"... then nothing.

He doesn't like dealing at the deadline. Plain and simple.

Believe me, after seeing the three players they already traded for, I'm not holding my breath on them getting anyone who will significantly move the dial on this season. I do think the Blue Jays are playing over their heads and may fall back to earth soon (who loses 3 of 4 games to the Orioles?), so we just need to stay close until September.

What you're not happy with a 6th outfielder?

ottobord 07-31-2025 07:36 AM

Our closer, who for some reason Michael Kay emphasized "has only blown 2 saves" on yesterday's broadcast, has a 5.00 ERA. They way I see it we need at least 2 legitimate bullpen arms. Really probably three.
