Am I going to have to be criticizing this team all year long or will they ever be capable of playing a form of baseball that makes me happy.

Gleyber is the new Gary.

So Hicks, Gallo and Higashioka will get people fired this year.

Higashioka has me actually missing Gary 7 spring training home runs but when you face real pitchers in the regular season you are 1 for 11 thanks for all the offensive fire power Kyle.

Yeah, Hal needs to grow some balls and finally give Cash the boot. only 1 ring and 2 division titles in the past 2 decades just doesn't cut it. best job security in the world; he's been there since '86 |

I would be happy if Hal were to just sell the team to someone that actually cared about baseball. |

I think we all know the answer to that. :)! I'm just impressed Gallo hit a single instead of striking out all game. |

But at least he doesn't go into his homerun trot without actually making sure the ball goes over the fence first. |

This right here. It's the only way we are going to be champions again. |

The problem is Hal's devotion to Cashman. The issue isn't that they don't spend, the payroll is 245M. The issues are they spend poorly and their player development / drafting is abysmal other than Volpe who will be inducted into the hof and have his number retired this year based on one high A season. |
I am beginning to think the Yankees franchise is overrated. Follow me out on this one I was born in 1961 been a Yankees fan since I was 8 so I was too young to enjoy the 1961 and 1962 championships, so from 1969 to 1976 7 years no titles, 1977 and 1978 back to back so 2 titles so far and I am only 17 so far so good, 1979 through 1995 no titles and now I am 34 so still only 2 titles since I began rooting for them not looking so good, then came the 1996 through 2000 years 4 out of 5 titles with 1997 being the only one they didn’t win, now I go from 2001 though 2008 no titles but after the 4 out of 5 I am still feeling it’s not that bad, 2009 another title and I am thinking this could be the start of another dynasty so thought things were looking good, 48 years old after the 2009 title so 7 in the 53 years I have been a fan, 2010 till present 12 years not including this one as the season is still young. I am starting to get that feeling Red Sox and Indians now Guardians fans must have felt all those years. When is the next title coming and will I be alive and to see it. Yes I know the Yankees haven’t had a sub .500 season in forever but I would rather have some really bad seasons with some titles mixed in. Sorry for the long post just wanted to put this out there.

One thing is for sure, which most of us already knew, Higashioka is a back up and thats it. You cant have him playing regularly. Hell I was one who wanted Sanchez back for one more yr, but ok they traded him, but found NOTHING to replace him?

It's no secret that they won a lot of those WS before minorities were allowed to play and even more before the modern playoff format went into effect (1969). Since '69, they've won 7 championships which averages out to 1 every 7-8 seasons which is still more than anybody in that timespan. That's my point of view on the Yankees org: Still the best but not as great as you think. I was not and will never be the guy who says "27 rings". |

Sent from my SM-G981U using Tapatalk[/QUOTE] Yes even back then they had more money to spend than other franchises, who else would’ve given Babe Ruth that much money. |
We're the greatest team of all time. We have a very good ball club this season. It's early let it play out if we get hot at the right time we could definitely win it all. Look at the #@#@#@#@ team who won the WS last year got hot when it mattered. Long season to be played way to early to start worrying.

Crowd booing Judge in the 8th last night. Presumably for his turning down the Yanks contract offer. Kay Show was just saying that Judge didn't say what he was asking for because he doesn't want to appear greedy. Got news for you Aaron, that ship has already sailed. Yanks offer him the 2nd highest contract for an OF in history, avg per season, and he turns it down. He has every right in the world to turn it down, but yea, that comes across as greedy Aaron.
