More than 50% of people are unhappy with how things are going. Are enough new people coming in to sustain the growth needed to pay the Fanatics’ bills?
|
50% is based on what?

Depends on what percentage of revenues that the "more than 50% are unhappy" group represents. And is that group going to stop buying? |

with the print runs being upped to make cards available for the masses, i could see them growing the hobby |

The poll that was posted. |
The poll that was posted.
Your poll that you posted that included an option of "I hate everyone and everything?" With 160 votes? The poll that 55% of the votes on the 3 serious answers say they are happy or think that things are headed in the right direction? |
Fanatics and Panini are the hobby. What is left to enjoy? Leaf? Kind of like saying you don't hate gyms, you just hate working out. Doesn't really make sense.
"Fanatics and Panini are the hobby"? WRONG! They are the businesses that print the cards. They are not THE hobby. |

35% yes. People love to toss their feeling and thoughts out as truth with nothing to back it up. Is there contrary evidence? |

Yeah a poll with 3 potential negative responses or "Yes, everything is perfect" is not indicative of...well, anything other than people like to complain. Again, if the hobby is so awful, people should find something new to do. |

You sign on angry every day, just find a new hobby already. Constantly trying to prove anger is not healthy. You've got to have better things to do with your life than just rant and make angry polls. |

If that's the case, I highly doubt that more than 50% of people are unhappy with the hobby. People are upset with the manufacturers and the resellers. The whole point of a "hobby" is that it's something to bring you pleasure or relaxation, i.e. makes you happy. If more than 50% of the people are unhappy with the hobby, then the hobby is in trouble. |

It’s ok that you’re wrong and have been wrong all this time. There’s still time for you to change. Being disappointed isn’t being angry. |
Fanatics ≠ the hobby. The hobby will survive Fanatics. It remains to be seen if Fanatics can survive the hobby.

"I'm not mad, I'm just disappointed."
I've used that one on my kids. |

Being disappointed isn’t being angry.
You're just posting trolling gibberish..."oh your wrong and your mom is too" blah blah blah. Come on dude, be better. I've already shown and explained the strength of the hobby - card shows are strong, the National is selling out (no hotels available!), ebay and COMC are showing record listings...these are not symptoms of a dying industry. Fanatics has problems, they do! But these are not brand new things that we have not seen before. Not every card will or should be a PSA 10. Not every box is going to be a money maker. Not every person will collect the same. Its your choice to wake up angry. I choose to enjoy this hobby, and I'll adapt my collecting habits to keep it enjoyable. |
Definition of insanity....
Continually complaining about product that you continue to buy. Don't like it, don't buy it. Simple as that. Sent from my SM-G975U using Tapatalk |

I took a direct quote from you. You make one up. All your proof is based off what you think, not what you can prove. You act like it’s all hunky dory when it isn’t. Why can’t you admit it? Does it frighten you to think people don’t like how things are going? Can you bury your head any farther in the sand? |

People have been predicting the demise of the hobby for 20 years. We're all still here. I don't need to make polls asking if people are angry. The world is full of angry people. Message boards in particular. |
35% yes.

Is there contrary evidence?
You told a person that said they wanted an option of yes but felt there could be improvements that it counted as a no. Your bias is plastered all over it. Throw out the "I hate everything" votes. In your small sample size, you have 42% that are happy. Even though your option is questionable, because your only yes option was "everything is fine." 56% were happy or felt things are headed in the right direction. 160 people on a message board doesn't make what you are saying truth. |

More than half of your voters of the serious options are happy or feel it's heading the right direction. |
Fanatics and Panini are the hobby.
No they aren't. They dominate the section of the hobby focused on current releases. However many collectors focus on older cards/sets. That's a very big section of the hobby that has nothing to do with Fanatics/Panini. Personally, I would say my spending is split roughly 75/25.....75% on older, non-current cards, 25% on current releases. |
