Glad I held off, price got tempting but ya not looking like a wise buy.

The very first SPGU with the DiPietro, Gaborik, Cechmanek, etc was beautiful. I still have the base set with rookies. The rest have been hot garbage.

I had joined b2b a while back to see what real pricing looks like. It's amazing how brutal Upper Deck is - every single release eventually drops by at least 1/3 from it's release price. The only exceptions seem to be S1/S2, but I think that's a factor that based on the wholesale price the margins are terrible. Leaf is worse - those usually end up below cost - but Upper Deck is pretty bad too.

S1/s2 retail can get to below factory cost, fun to rip at those prices

I assume You have to be an actual dealer or breaker to get in on that action.

Upper Deck 2020-21, 21-22 and 2022-23 will be strong rips because of the rookie class. 2023 with Bedard will be crazy. If I was UD I would put his YG in 23 series 1 and his canvas in series 2

During the summer/fall is good time to look for discounted UD1-2 retail. Very fun when the YGs are in a decent condition.

I am genuinely curious what percentage of this product is actually "game used". All the ones I've seen say "player worn".

Did one box. Didn’t even get a scrub auto. My hit was a Debrincat patch out of 25…from when he was with Chicago. The patch is tiny and something I could likely get $5 for realistically.

Great rip at $5/box. Probably wouldn't go higher.

Except when SPGU has been part of a multi-product break with other much better stuff I never touch this garbage. MAYBE a few singles here and there for PC purposes or a bonafide flipping profit. I did get a Draft Day Marks auto of Nick Suzuki in a multi-product random team break a few years ago out of a 2018-19 box but that would by far be the best and only decent hit ever for me.

The true rookies numbered to jersey number can be worth a few bucks but generally yeah it’s not a great product.

tried one box on epack and can't believe how lucky I got after seeing how trash this product is. I actually should get a decent return on the box.

I collect the Tonight's Lineup 1 of 1 cards from this set. For me, one of the only "game-used" aspects worth a damn.

If anyone has a Ducks one, I am the buyer. So far I have Gibson and Fowler.

considering this is a 20 box case, pulling a top end rookie auto, a nice patch + a true rookie in 4 boxes seems ok
