at least 2-1 maybe 3-1 rarer. yes the prizm silver is much more sp.
Thanks. Where do you find that information? |
I just bought the orange gem off the bay for $2,035... I'm a little disturbed right now but hey its only money right.
Honestly with how its going right now that sounds like a decent buy. |

I hope so. I'm fairly new into the basketball card market and felt it was now or never for me. |

pack odds, being apart of over 30 cases of prizm busted and opening about 3 cases of select and following the market and pop reports |
that is 100% false.
the red border is a rare card and like all color hoops they are very condition sensitive cause of the color borders and the centering. i have been trying to find a bgs 9.5 candidate one for over a year. i bought 2 that looked gem 7 months ago paid $31 & $30 for them raw each. sent 1 to bgs and it only came back a 9. sold it on ebay a few months ago for $56 for a bgs 9. so that card was never $5 - $10, ever. the red border is a target exclusive, blue border from walmart. they are both ssp. the gold is also sp as well. they were not as easy as you think to pull with that big of a checklist. also finding a well centered clean version of any color is next to impossible. look at the bgs pop report.
I think you are right about the time frame: those weren't 5-10 a year ago. But they were at some point in single digits. Just like the Red Prizm was (although that was a really, really long time ago). Also, notice that the original question was made regarding a raw Hoops red and not a graded one. |
How rare is the select blue & purple prizm ?
49 and 99 respectively. IMO, Purple looks much nicer. |
49 and 99 respectively. IMO, Purple looks much nicer.
Agree the purple just pops An meshes better IMO with the redish bucks jersey |
By that logic giannis seems silver Prizm should be like over 5 times more valuable than Durant since there is like 1500 Durant refractors and only 200-300 giannis Silver.
Maybe Chrome’s Quality control wasn’t that good.
Honestly, I'm not usually one to try to gauge value simply off population or print run numbers, especially when it comes to different cards from different manufacturers in different years. It's really all about what people want and don't want. With the way these prices are heading we could see 2-3x Giannis Prizm Silver prices over Durant Chrome Refs. 2007 was a pretty junky year for Chrome for sure. |
For the new generation of collectors, this is what it was like during Vinsanity. The market goes absolutely bananas, and then 10 years later you make threads about it saying, "remember those crazy Giannis years when dudes were paying $2,000 for an orange prizm!!! I just got one the other day for $45."
I love this though, it's so good for the hobby. |

I looked at the pop reports and they seem very even. |
I looked at the pop reports and they seem very even.
thats cause not a lot of people graded the select cause it was never worth as much. in a select box that year it had 14 packs and you got 6 silver prizms. they pretty much were 1:2 packs. in prizm they are much more sp. in prizm you got 20 pcks per box and only 5 prizms per box making them 1:4 packs and the rookies were short printed. you usually got 1 rookie silver prizm per 1-2 boxes. |

Love the Orange one! |
Would the prizm to select prizm print runs balance if select was printed in much lower quantity? Could that be a possibility?

I think Prizm has a shorter print but the gap is not as wide. Also, given the odds, you should have gotten 1 rookie prizm every 2 boxes. I don't think they were SP compared to the other cards. |

This. |
I hit the RC logoman auto (I think Immaculate). When I posted on twitter that the chatroom thought it was a $10k card, the twitterverse mocked me quite a bit.
I know it was then sold on eBay for $10k+ shortly afterwards. |

When was this? I paid 2 bucks for a Gold and like 5 for the Base plus the Blue. I don't remember how much the Red cost me (or if I even bought it) but it wasn't that far behind. And that was about 2 years ago. |
.
there are 65 giannis orange prizms.
There are 60 on the orange. |
