Snow in the air today. No mow April coming up. :flex:

Tonight is the night, probably.

He's further south NN, of course he had to mow earlier. Just like I'm mowing earlier than you and Hairy.

Not hay mowing, it doesn't need it bad but there are parts that are higher than others. Probably where Hairy did his business.

Thank god we didn't have to start mowing the last week in February like we did last year after moving to VA.

Get on it, tariffs coming your way!

Are they, though? I'm not so sure.

Boo 04-15-2025 07:31 PM

#1 in the books earlier tonight. Had to let Red warm up a little, had some rain drops and big winds. No critters hurt that I saw and no dog .

#2 done

Yard really coming together

No hay field like the compound

Blades on the mower sharp enough and mowing before it’s long enough to need bagging

Just buy an American-made lawnmower.

First I felt like I was behind all my neighbors with these retired folks getting out there and cutting grass already...

Now I feel behind cause it seems like everybody went electric over the winter and I still have my gas run Toro...

Boo 04-24-2025 05:59 AM

#2 finished, did the whole Compound last night. It's still nice and green but the drought might bring on the dustbowl earlier than normal this year.

All the pollinators thank you for destroying their next generation in your effort to have short grass earlier than anyone else at your latitude.

Not to mention the hapless critters who met their demise in the blades of Big Red or the nesting birds displaced from your shutters

You're a one-man wrecking crew.

No way, I've seen one guy down the road mowing three times so far. I'm probably about average for the area right now.

Boo 04-24-2025 06:56 AM

And no critters were hurt yesterday (that I know of), although I did almost score a black and blue butterfly. Cornhole would have been mad.

Pollinators everywhere see Boo Compound as the Dead Zone.

First mow of the year completed. My son has such bad allergies that I spare him from mowing until June. I will be teaching my 13 year old daughter to mow next weekend.

ssbledsoe 04-26-2025 02:12 PM

Round 3 out of the way

Keeping my edge on the hay barbers at BoNut Gardens and the Boo Compound Hayfields

Boo 04-29-2025 06:58 PM

#3 finished, just missed a rabbit. No critters harmed though.
