Promotions like this though seem to hurt the hobby stores. I'm sure there are plenty of hobby stores out there who are sitting on cases of older products like this and could benefit immensely from an added bonus pack like this to help move stale product. From an end user collector, it's a great idea, just doesn't seem to jive with their public message of doing everything they can to help the brick and mortar stores.

That's a good point, but they also do Father's Day and Black Friday packs for shops.

I don't have a shop within an hour of where I live so I'm 101% ok with them doing it the way they did.

Looks like they're going to have a HOCKEY PROMO too!

They do those as well, but they also make the shops buy more product in order for them to get packs. The product is also sold to the stores at basically MSRP, so it may benefit the stores with more foot traffic, but they are also left with unsold inventory. They should give stores more opportunities to move older product. It's a win-win for Panini when a store moves through old products, clears up space for new products to come in, gives the store some cash flow to buy more of the newer products, and increases foot traffic in the store so you have the possibility of attracting new people to the hobby.

Don't hold your breath. Panini is pretty much terrible with hockey without the likes of Gretzky, Orr, etc. Their hockey stuff sells really poorly on the secondary market compared to Upper Deck, which still has their license.

I think they are including hockey in the fathers day promotion in a few days

Lol maybe Panini is going to handle these like the XRC Draft Autos (Kyrie, etc.) and ship them out in the finals next year.

Anyone know what happened to the Jalen Rose that was up? Seems like seller ended listing but wondering if it got sold or not.

If what the guy in the breaks section said is true, I don't see how there's any secondary market at all for these packs.

(In case you didn't see, he said there's no seal on the box and no cellophane around the box either. You can just pop the lid and see what's inside.)

The pictures on the blog had a sticker seal on some of them
