Think Topps can get him into S2?
If he debuts early, they definitely can. But they've proven they won't. Just look at acuna last year. Called up after serving the minimum amount of time, but not in S2 but for a sp/ssp. |
Wouldn’t Update be better than S2? Always thought it was cool when a player just had one flagship RC from Update instead of multiple across S1,S2, and Update.
|
2016 chrome Gold sold for $300 is that a good price? I was offering around $250 for it last night.

Tatis w the team in Seattle and in the starting lineup. I’m starting to think he’s got a shot to make the opening day roster.

Have to just bump this one up today. |

Toot! Toot! |
It’s probably been said, but there are really some Freezing Cold Takes quality material on the first page.
To me Tatis is one 60 game stretch away from being considered nothing. I don't buy his potential.
I was going though my old common boxes yesterday and his father Fernando Tatis, was everywhere in there. If this kid is as good as his father was, the common card bin awaits.

Hope one of you got this: https://www.ebay.com/itm/2016-Bowman-Chrome-ORANGE-SHIMMER-FERNANDO-TATIS-JR-Rookie-GMA-10-GEM-15-25/233179890688?hash=item364a9ac400:g:vBUAAOSwJ8hcms4g
I was going to buy this AM, but wife grabbed me to drive the kids to school. I came back and it was sold. Doh! BTW how credible is a GMA 10 grade? I realize I don't see them as a grader too often |
Pretty happy to add this to the collection. The Padres charge $100 per ticket for the paper souvenir tickets, so I have a feeling this will end up being pretty rare.
I have half season tickets but didn't get the souvenir tickets since I wasn't sure when Tatis would be making his debut (could have been on the road, one of the games I didn't have etc). Found this on eBay for $10 the night before they announced he made the team, so definitely a gamble that paid off. 2 home runs in 2 days... surprised no one is talking about the kid? He's looked pretty decent so far
|
I am actually shocked his chrome prospect auto only goes for a little over $200.
|
waiting for the RCs!
|
Yea, he’s better than advertised. Hitting homers, defensive gems in the field, and hitting for a decent average.
Not to mention the Padres are in first place! |
Another homer tonight, added a SB. Hitting .296
|
Holding his own with the 2 big boys so far this year
Acuna - .316, 6 HRs, 14 RBIs, 2 SBs Soto - .262, 3 HRS, 13 RBIs, 1 SB Tatis - .296, 6 HRs, 13 RBIs, 3 SBs |
Tatis should same price as soto.
The big difference will be that Tatis will have a million different rookie cards while Soto has a few. Soto is also in a much bigger market.

hoping Topps got him into the Big League release

10 game hit streak and I have a huge pickup that I should have in hand in the next couple of weeks

It's weird that he's doing fairly well (especially if you consider his age), but he's a bit of a ghost on here. A few posts here and there, but there's not much hobby hype on him? I'm actually surprised how well he's doing. I thought he'd have a harder time adapting to the big league. Hoping he keeps it up! |
