Select raw can and should hit $150 with Gems settling around $250
Hoops Raw upwards of $60 with Gems around $150-$200
SP Authentic raw $20-$25 Gems $100
Panini Raw $30-40 Gems $150
Prestige Raw $30-40 Gems $120-$150

Serial numbered items will be much more lucrative but subjective as well.

On that subject, I have a question for the most experienced graders: Why are the premiums for cheap base (Hoops, Prestige, Select, even Prizm) so high for Giannis? I've seen tons of 9.5s going for more than twice of the raw price and PSA 10s for like 3 times.

Quite a bit if history repeats itself.

This is the most recent sale of a raw prizm. If he pulled off that it I don't see why have the same effect as Tom Brady base chrome did after the Superbowl. If not only for a short period and then leveling off. I know Brady has history , but many times spike happen in the now. He has international buyers which may be even better than history. This is the highest sale on a PSA 10 so far so one at live auction it will be interesting to see 8 days from now. They will be 4 games in deep with Raptors by then. The sellers not taking much risk unless he gets a deadbeat buyer.

I'll add that when a "Mint auto rookie" of Giannis #ed /100 sells for over $400k, then maybe people can say his prices have gotten out of hand. Until then, there is room for growth.

Extreme example- Check Tom Brady prices, then circle back. People will pay outrageous prices for who they feel is deserving.

That said, Brady is in a class of 1 with respect to winning and what he's done on the field. Giannis isn't there yet. By a long shot. That being said-

Yea, you added to my point that people buy in the now. If it wasn't Giannis I wouldn't have used the Brady example. It would just be "someone hot in the playoffs" but with most believing he's not going anywhere anytime soon as an elite player or eventual face of the NBA it's not that crazy to assume people paying for the hype and his future accomplishnents.

Again, I said short period of time. I'm in no way tryng to compare Giannis vs Brady current credentials as much as thinking outside of a void of where how things should add up vs how the hobby actually reacts as a whole.

What about Pinnacle? Those are tough to gem with all black borders.
Also the Upper Deck 25th have done well

I think there's probably a pretty big ceiling with any of the UD cards, as there just isn't as much demand for unlicensed stuff. I personally sold my Exquisite a couple months ago and picked up a Red Prizm for that exact reason.

So tough to know when to sell right now. Have an offer of 5k on my blue prizm auto. If history teaches me anything I will sell and then it will be a 10k card next week.

I think the PGM will take off. Sure, it's unlicensed (international uniform) but the aesthetics are identical to the 1997-98s that are Fire. My point on this is though licensed, the 2009-10 Topps/Chrome/UD/Exquisite were so rushed that they were college unlicensed photos and those have not hurt their overall trajectory. Sure, they have their team logo on the card, but aside from that, there is little to no difference. Over time, I do not think it will matter much if at all with respect to Giannis's Retro/UD stuff, particularly the PMG.

I disagree about the Curry Exquisite. If he was in a GS uni with the classic 2003 design, those would be 10K. Regardless of college jersey or not, both Topps and UD were licensed and able to out the team logo on their cards. That is a huge deal, whether you believe it or not.

The only thing that helps Giannis' unlicensed stuff is that most of his RCs are paper junk anyway IMO.

$900 for a base prizm seems high but in this market who knows? But if he doesn't win the title nor MVP his prices will drop this summer. I think he'll be MVP.

One of the cards I've been interested in tracking is his 2nd year silver. One just ended at $300 raw. I have a raw one, I believe I paid like .50 for it a year or two ago as part of a bulk purchase on Ebay from a seller who had free combined shipping. Picked up some low end inserts at the time and just added that one as well for the hell of it. I knew the Silver craze had bumped up most star cards, but was still surprised how well this one sold for.
