I was watching that Contenders, and actually got up to see what it was doing with about 5 minutes left.
It appeared to be a legit copy (no trimming) but I was obviously hesitant, and decided not to go for it.

I actually took mine out, and measured some areas of the image, and the distance to certain borders to see if I could ascertain if the card was "off" (trimmed) just by measuring the same aspects via the image.
I dunno what I came up with, it was 3am.. but I didnt bid.

It did end at a really odd time, but the user is located in Hawaii, so it was like noon time for them, when it ended.
I do agree that it probably cost them a few bucks, but people are so hesitant about raw copies these day, so Im not surprised.

Still a decent price for a raw copy.. card looks like a 9 if its not altered. thats a 5k card if graded.

so mad I sold my 2 raw bowmans and a raw chrome and didn't pick up a high graded one of each in the last 2 years. I have a UD black graded which is nice and some raw skybox/fleer/impacts and maybe some others

I think I also sold a score and some pacifics and didn't replace.

I do have a nice five star auto though - not rookie obviously.

Even I think this is crazy for a BGS 9.5 bowman chrome (nothing special about the sub grades either) $636.79

This is so damn depressing. I used to own a 9.5 SP Authentic and a 9 Contenders.

Metal PSA 10 just went for $400

listing ended early for a brady championship ticket bgs 8. Buy it now for $24k. Don't know of it's real or just b.s.

BGS 8.5's were being offered here for 4k early last year.

Haha, I have other Brady's as well! I just always thought the Bowman Chrome RC was underrated/valued. It's nice seeing it rise in value but now I have to open my wallet up a bit wider to acquire more of these :mad:

How are you so sure? Weren't you selling and trading Jordan RCS and had Curry stuff? Did you lose a lot on those or something? Just see you always referring to cards being hyped up

I used to have an SP Authentic BGS 10...

And a PSA 9.

Luckily, I still have my Contenders 9/10.

I just follow the market closely and I am a learner. Those old saying...if it looks like a duck, quacks like a duck, and walks like a duck, then it's definitely #buyersgroup.

They must have a lot of money..this underground secret society. Strange no ones ever met any of them. They buy a lot of different cards according to the conspiracy theorists...they must spend millions per month.

Yeah but why can't this be the case for any card that goes up in value? I mean even after brady won a few super bowls I remember his contenders were like $500- $900 and then you had new rookies going for almost the same. I just don't think Brady had the bump in prices that others did. I think now, including myself wanting to get one before they get more expensive. I just recently bought a Brady contenders.

Correct. Brady's cards were severely undervalued and now the market is correcting itself. This is the greatest quarterback of all time, his cards should be worth a lot. Ezekiel Elliot and Dak Prescotts are going for 1000's Brady's should be worth 10-20 x what theirs are worth no? What have they accomplished?

Exactly. His prices never really went up as he continued his success. I think people realize that now and that's why we're seeing the price jump.

Please understand if the Pats do not win the Superbowl the price of all of these cards will drop significantly.

I am 100% certain there has been major price manipulation going on (not just an "adjustment"), but despite that, these prices are all building in a 5th superbowl ring. If that does not happen and Brady is 4-3 in Superbowls...just watch my friend.

Exactly. Since GB corrected its season, Rodgers RCs have slowly gone up (much less drastic than Brady), but if they lose to Dallas tomorrow, his cards will be "affordable" (relatively-speaking) again vs. if they win the whole thing. Same thing with Roethlisberger and Matt Ryan. With Gronk out, the smart investment would be to hope Pats get knocked out, and pick up Brady's during the offseason... and then hope he gets a ring next year. However, if New England does the win the whole thing...

30% across the board on all cards, and then 25-40% on the major cards. So, Contenders BGS 8's that are going for 5k will be back to around $2500.

SPX that are going for $1k will come down to $500 - $600.

Definitely. There are 810 PSA 9's and 725 PSA 10's.

PSA 9's going for $400 right now, lol. These aren't rare, and they are not hard to find. A loss by Brady and you'll find one for $200 EASY. It will take a little time for sure, but just watch.

How many graded Jordans are there?

How about LeBron James Topps chrome? what's the pop report on those? Overvalued? Well....that's different

Even if he doesn't win I doubt his cards take that drastic of a drop if any at all. He didn't win it all last season and during the off season his cards continued to climb.

Brady is the GOAT and some people in my generation now have good job(s) and the financial income to purchase these cards.

The refractor is still under priced.

Ahh Fleer Metal. Forgot about that one. I'm partial to the Contenders & Chrome.. A lot of those brands have fallen off since 2000 but those two will always have a strong following.

Im with you.. I actually had to look myself, because the Metal brand didnt come to mind.
Its a very small list though, if thats what your into (pro uniform rcs)

Speaking of Fleer Metal.. I used to own this card. Some sort of printing error that I could never find much info on.

Upper Deck RC is constantly $100+
Ultra & Victory RC's are up to around $50
Hard to find even the cheapest rookies (Press Pass, Tradition, Crown Royale Rookie Royalty, Impact etc...) for under $20.

Any price history on this?

No idea what a PSA 10 would go for. I got outbid on an old label BGS 9 last year. I think it went for around $1500.

Donruss Elite Aspirations #/90 went for $800 on saturday. my bid in the final minutes was several hundred short!

Not that I've noticed.

Just off memory, a 8.5 Contenders went for 3500, a 9 certified for 400, and a raw Chrome for 300. All in the last week, 10 days.
Those are all up from 60 days ago (November 15)

the chromes are the most surprising to me. i bought a raw chrome in 2014 the day after the superbowl (yes i realize probably not the best time to buy), but only paid $80.

Back in 2000 I pulled a Brady Gold Reserve rookie /2500 with a huge surface gouge. Sent it to UD for replacement and eventually received a sharp hand numbered card back. It has the same number, in gold paint pen, in the same place the card is normally numbered.

I don't remember seeing another hand numbered copy of this card but I received a few hand numbered replacements from UD so know it was standard procedure at the time. Any input on how this would impact the card's value?

Not 100% but I believe hand numbered carry less value. At least from what I've seen in the past.

Anyway I picked up a nice Prestige RC. I prefer the Wolverine Uni for obvious reasons :)

I paid $160 for it. I remember scoring one before his last SB win for $80 and immediately flipping it for $125 RAW. This one is a BCCG 9 but looks clean so I hope it grades a 9 or 8.5. They have that easy to damage front foil and flakey back. This one seems clean so wish me luck when I send it in for BCG grading :) Also scored a Rodgers Prestige #/150 ($50) to go along with it.
