Hey gang

Another Bowman Draft season has arrived!

I decided to go after more than 1 guy this year and also I decided to go after Auto and Base spots (last year was only 190 cases of Base Chrome for 1 guy).

This year I am interested in 3 guys but mainly 2 of those 3 to be honest, you can tell which of the 3 below based on Cards Claimed section.

Based on last year's results, do you say it's better to just buy everything as singles or gamble it hoping you pull a red or superfractor auto? Either way, good luck with this year's upcoming haul! :)

That's a personal preference. I just like to stock up on Draft. I like the chase.

That's awesome, I wanna do this one day too. Whenever the Angels get a top 5 pick, then I'll go all out on that years draft.

It helps others when they are pondering going deep on Draft breaks. gives them a sense of possible outcome. Was main reason I started my thread last year.

Nice breakdown. It really puts the cost in perspective. This is my first try at prospecting in these multi case breaks. Unfortunately (or fortunately) I don't have the funds right now to get too crazy. So i looked at all the cheap spots in the 36 caser, researched them, and came up with one guy. It will be fun watching and rooting him on. Now still debating whether to claim in the 50 case as well.

S'all good though. Have plenty more cases to go. I have Ryder and Anthony autos for most of the remaining breaks with Houdini. Josh was really just in the first 12 caser. I purposefully did not go after him in all other breaks.

The Anthony Orange auto does burn because I sold that spot.

Ending up with some nice numbers man. Just curious have you done any kind of quick current value calculations? For example what you could sell everything for today on Ebay vs. what your total cost is? Not that you would want to sell, prospecting is more about holding at the start, but just to give yourself an idea of initial investment value.

I think that I am not going to make what I spent on these breaks if things keep going as they are.

The Superfractor is my biggest card. I was offered $2k for it but I declined as I want to hold onto it.
I do not think it is a $2k card but the person who reached out to me is a rabid Yankee fan so I can see why he made that offer.

Anthony Seigler is the better seller based on ebay sales but he is going down in price. Ryder wasn't that strong out of the gate in sales department and now I see him creeping even lower, not even holding steady.

So yeah, when this is all done I will prob be like maybe $1,000 - $1,500 shy of breaking even. That is, assuming I keep stacking up on low end autos for these 2 guys. If I start hitting Blue or better color for Seigler in particular, I can see a break even point or better. I am not worried though as this is all a gamble.

I focus on a draft player or players when I join these auctions and go in with intent to hold and hope they pan out.

If I can easily sell base chrome for $1 each + $2.60 shipping, then this is a huge win for me. Not there yet for these guys. not sure when that will be either but it's all good as I am not in a rush. I rather not sell their base chrome in bulk just yet either.

My OP has my Google Sheet you can look at for results per break - if anyone want's to take on the math project when I an done with totals, rock out. I wont be doing it.

The Gorman spot is a beast of a spot but keep in mind that it could of easily been the opposite. You just pay up and hold on for dear life basically, lol.

Yeah, that Gorman spot hit the jackpot. Almost best case scenario for him, the highest valued prospect keeps popping out.

Prospecting isn't for the faint of heart that's for sure. You said it, just hold on for dear life and hope your guy turns out to be the real deal.

Entertainment value is hard to put a price on as well, the joy prospecting and buying into breaks brings is overlooked many times when considering cost.

The joy I get from participating in auctions and then waiting to see results is very fun. So yeah, part of my investment is also entertainment for myself.
