Imagine this guy's prices if he had 25% the hype of Vlad Jr.

All he's doing so far this year in AAA is:

11 HR's in 20 games
.361 Avg (with only a .326 BABIP)
.459 obp (14% walk rate)
.903 Slugging
1.362 OPS

He's only 21. He looks more to me like the guy to invest in.

His raw 1st auto bases are still in the mid $100s so folks know what's up

His cards in 19 Bowman hardly have any value. Perhaps bc it doesn’t have the 1st Chrome designation? Obviously had autos prior to, but these are his first non-auto bowman cards.

I still can't believe he was traded for Josh Fields. But I don't want to get too excited though. Tucker was great but struggled when he was called up. Tyler White better step up or his DH and MLB roster spot could be gone.

Base auto sold for 175 earlier today! I’ve got a blue auto and trying to decide if I hold or not

Bought 2 gold autos before season happy I did.

My days of winning him in eBay 2019 Bowman group breaks are dwindling due to lack of funds, and they're going up a little. It's a steal though. $10-12 per case roughly, and he's in Top 100, Sterling, 30th, and Ready for The Show. Lots of chances to hit parallels. Lots of probability that prices spike.

We here know all about him, as in player drafts and whatnot in the group breaks, he comes in just after Beer, generally speaking.

FWIW, William Contreras and Sandro Fabian are the same as Alvarez, with this being their first non-auto.

Alvarez is thicker and more chiseled than Judge but not nearly as tall.

I already sold a 1st chrome base gem auto. I'm waiting for someone to pounce on the refractor. ETA REFRACTOR SOLD.

I think Judge is 6'7" and Alvarez is 6'5". PM incoming.

Theyll pick up. Bellinger 2016 chrome were basically worthless in 2016. Then people realized it was his first chrome. Same with Soto in 2017 Chrome. I know im grabbing Yordan stuff while its reasonable!

Why was Yordan left out of the base set? Late add?

Last night a ONE case player break went for $42 on eBay....and I had the option of keeping it for $12 after last week and stupidly didn't. So it's fair to say the hype in building for 2019 stuff, although it may just pockets of hype.

I like Tyler White, but .260/.373/.300 0 HR 1 RBI 21 K's in 18 games is not getting it done. Its about that time to bring him up.

They called Derek Fisher up for the series in Mexico (they got to add one extra position player per rules). They also promoted an outfielder (Wrenn) to AAA. I wonder what happens to White after this series. I presume that Fisher gets sent back down, but you would think they have to make a move with White, as well. No production. Can’t keep getting 0 HR and 1 RBI from a DH spot per month.

It appears the problem with White is that he ate Vlad Jr.

If I had sent it to BGS I'd likely agree, however That's why I sent it to PSA. I don't think they're quite so hard on centering as BGS. I'm expecting an 8 on that one with hopes for a 9.

He only had autos in the 2018 Bowman Chrome set. Then he has his first "base" card in 2019 Bowman w/ Chrome

I don’t know but I’m not sure it’s soon. Gm said the other day that he can hit right now in the big league and the very next thing he said they didn’t want to bring him up and have him hit 200. Makes me think he is watching his words

Houston has some weird issue with hitter call ups lately, and I think they piss off their minor leaguers by how they manipulate them.

They have a long history of guys that were crushing it in the minors and they refused to call them, and when they finally did the guys always seemed to feel too pressured and performed poorly.

Fisher, JD Davis and Kyle Tucker are all recent examples.

2 for 3 with his 15th HR and 3 RBI so far today!

Yes it was. It had a few minor surface issues but could Gem. If I was a betting man though I’d say it’s a solid 9+.

Part of me hopes they keep him down until I get my 3 autos back from jewcers psa sub! But I doubt Houston will call me to get my input

From what I can tell, they have 2 open spots on the 40 man roster. Either way, there are plenty of options to send down.

Tyler White and Tony Kemp would be the two biggest right now.

This guy is a beast. I’m glad I held some of my Best autos of him.

can they bring him up already?

Don't be surprised if they bring Tucker up first. If Brantley and/or Reddick get hurt, they are going to value Tucker's defense more. Plus Tucker has been on fire and like many have mentioned is already on the 40 man roster.

I can’t see them getting rid of White unfortunately. He plays too many positions in the INF that gives Hinch options resting guys.
That being said, they could lose one of the deadbeat relievers (only 1-2) and bring him up to play OF and DH Brantley. White can ride the pine and DH when Hinch needs a RH Bat. Otherwise it’s time for White to go.

Agree on White, he's a valuable righty bat off the bench. But they aren't going to put Alvarez in LF and relegate Brantley to DH. Brantley rates as an average defensive OF and almost certainly superior defensively to Alvarez.
