Xavier Worthy arrested
This doesn't sound like it will turn out well.
Former Texas star WR and Chiefs WR Xavier Worthy was arrested Friday Night in Williamson County, TX. Charges: Criminal charge of assault against a family or household member by impeding their breathing or circulation. Chiefs Draft:
WR TE WR .. .. |
Oh no, I liked this kid too. Chiefs just can't catch a break with these WRs.
Then again, maybe case falls apart, or there are no legs to it. |
Rashee Rice -- Suspended
Xavier Worthy -- Arrested Travis Kelce -- Washed |
It won't affect the Chiefs at all. They have proven that they don't need star WRs to succeed.
Veterans will line up to play there (JuJu, Hopkins and so on) for championship chances. They will be able to fill out complimentary players and still win 14 games |

"Doesn't sound like it will turn out well"?
That's drama queen stuff by OP and the article over a website line. It's not even picked up by any other major news/sports. There is no info here whatsoever. 'Williamson County, Texas online records show that the alleged incident happened on Friday. Here’s the charge: “ASSAULT FAM/HOUSE MEM IMPEDE BREATH/CIRCULAT.” ' But yes, tell us what else the crystal ball shows... lol. ...This is as likely to be a simple issue dropped charges +/- payoff as anything the team/league will even look at. There are people in the HOF who committed murder. I wouldn't raise alarms over something that'll probably get dismissed. |

Choking is among the biggest predictors of spousal/partner murder. A person committing strangulation is 750% more likely to kill their partner than they were before.

But that is 100x for people who are rich and/or high profile $$ targets. Many false accusations there.
Does it really matter who he choked?
I'm sorry... maybe I did not see a video, hear him describe it, or hear he pled guilty.
I just saw it was an arrest based on accusation. Your neighbor can call the cops right now, say you were flashing them or pointing a gun around, and you get arrested. An ex can call rape or claim theft or claim child abuse. So it's guilty as charged, eh? No more innocent until proven? White knighting based on a one-line snippet is the new normal? We'd better get the electric chair ready! I was not aware of that. :) ...Let the normal and necessary legal process play out (if this doesn't get rapidly dropped altogether). |
Even if she drops the charges, the NFL can still discipline him for violating league policy. He's most likely gonna miss some games.

Buff also appears to have missed on Kincaid (possibly a starter, but sure doesn't look like a star TE worthy of 1st rd pick). ...I would let the Xavier thing play out before calling semi-bust guys superior? Nothing to fear, the Chiefs are re-signing Hollywood Brown to a 1 year deal- season saved!

Worthy made a statement that his fiance cheated on him and was trying to extort him and refused to leave their shared home. He didn't make any statements denying choking her.

If she lives there, he can’t just up and make her leave (even if he owns the house). He would have to get a court order (notice of eviction) which is a long, excruciating process. Even crazier is now she can (potentially) get a domestic violence protection order and kick him out of his own house for the time being. He alleges (through his lawyers) she engaged in property destruction. Sounds to me like a highly combustible situation finally ignited to physical violence. He’s not going to go to jail, but we can all safely expect it will cost him some serious money and maybe a suspension. |
He should have called the cops if all that's true
Agreed. He should have lawyered up, had them contact the authorities and move to evict, and then just stayed the heck away from her, even if that meant living in a hotel for a few months. Instead she set the trap and it sounds like he walked right into it. |
Agreed. He should have lawyered up, had them contact the authorities and move to evict, and then just stayed the heck away from her, even if that meant living in a hotel for a few months. Instead she set the trap and it sounds like he walked right into it.
I've never heard anything about character issues with him, and he should never, ever put his hands on a woman, and he deserves punishment. That being said, maybe it is truly a one time mistake that he will never repeat, and he can make up for it. Volunteering and/or donating to battered women's causes, etc |
sounds like a powder keg went off. IF he did choke her, there will be photos taken by police of the wounds. IF that happened, I see no reason for the Chiefs not to cut him.
Immediately. regardless of if he was right and she was trying to extort him, you do not lay hands on a woman unless you are in fear for your life. you always leave that situation. |
A "one time mistake?" Huh?
Again, where's the mistake... where was the conviction here? Guys, he's twenty one years old. He's a millionaire. He's a target. If you date hot women, there will be fireworks. There will be drama, demands... often cheating. Even in marriages. The hottest women are usually the most entitled, in-demand, and dramatic. No two ways around it. I'm surprised some of the guys who are single like Joe Burrow or Will Levis or others who are players don't have more of this drama (although Burrow did a bit last year with the break-in stuff). Heck, I have had plenty women over the years who'd try to kick my car, refuse to leave, push open a door after I walk away and shut the door, try to yell at me in public, take my phone, etc (and I'm nobody special). It happens. Cops will side with a woman 99% of the time. The guy will be told to leave and/or arrested. That's how it works. Let this one play out. I bet charges get dropped by month's end. We'll see. |

He may be redeemable. A big suspension, and hefty fine by the league, and counseling, community service, and having to work directly with abused women, etc, assigned by the law- could go a long way to punish him, while helping others. Again, I am not trying to diminish what he did, but he has no record of anything like this, or anything else negative. I believe in second chances (for many offenses, not all) But even with a second chance if he gets one, there should NOT be a third chance. Doing something like this a second time should be auto elimination from the league |

From Worthy's attonney: "We are aware of the allegation that led to Mr. Worthy's arrest. We are working with law enforcement in Williamson County to ensure they have the benefit of the totality of circumstances that led to this allegation. "The complainant was recently asked to vacate Mr. Worthy's residence upon discovery of her infidelity. In this case it means none of the witnesses will talk. Which does come down to money because Worthy is probably their cash cow who won't be any good to them in jail. And a lot of these people come from communities where they are taught not to cooperate with the police. |
The NFL doesn't apply the same standard as our criminal courts of law, though it would be tough to suspend him if no one cooperates and there is no footage.

Lets see how this plays out. Usually if a DA comes in someone is getting arrested or at very least kicked out of the house for a bit. I remember probably 20 years ago a NFL player was arrested on DA charges because him and his wife were fighting and he went and punched a pillow several times in anger. Wife called the cops and he ended up getting arrested. Wife of course refused to go along with any charges and case was dropped.
What kind of women do you date?
I've had maybe one borderline crazy woman I dated in my twenties, but nothing you're describing here. This is cray cray:coffee:
Yeah, I don't think slyguy represents the norm here. Even my divorce wasn't dramatic. We drank wine and held a "draft" for our furniture. Sent the results to the attorney and never stepped foot in a court room. If things reach a point where someone is kicking your car, I think you may be part of the problem. |
Nothing like the same ol chumps on BO blowing this thread up
On a serious note....why the hell does Skyy Moore never get arrested? |

On a serious note....why the hell does Skyy Moore never get arrested?
It is scary how much of America jumps to an immediate conclusion with limited to no facts on the situation. You are guilty until proven innocent in this world. Hopefully this is the end of the situation and he distances himself from the chaos… Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |
Chiefs stans are forming on the barricades.

Just cause a girl says she was physically assaulted also does not make it so. It’s easy to say, and no doubt many times true, that money and other factors has probably helped many high profile and net worth people get away with horrendous acts. Also, websites letting women know where to find these athletes hanging out are just red flags that says keep your rich 20 something self out of the bars and clubs. At 55 I cannot imagine the nonsense millions in the bank in my 20s would have done as far as catching the wrong attention. Fast cars and faster women is fun until you’re Xavier Worthy.
At days end there are men violent towards women and best believe women who claim violence but are full of dog log trying to get paid. Just the mention of assaulting a woman is a permanent stain and when you are young, rich and good looking you better believe there are vultures looking for prey. I would wear the same cameras that police officers wear if I was trying to have some drinks at the club etc etc that’s the world we live in. My son will be a collegiate pitcher next year and he knows the library, weight room and close friends and family is where he should always focus. Even HS athletes with promise have envious people around them looking to start rumors and childish nonsense to try to set them up to fail. Between the haters and hustlers you no doubt have legitimate cases of abused women that are all lumped into the ugliness that exists. If justice fails then karma will prevail. Just my opinion… |

There's no coming back with just an accusation of certain things. That's why I've always believed that "accusations" should never be made public. Arrests? Yes. But anyone can accuse anybody of anything these days and it's all over the news. Real or made up.:( |

Simply look to the pg1 and pg2 of this thread for the endless string of betas ready to crucify this dude for charges dropped / not pressed within 24hr's timespan. Craziness. |

Very annoying. And if someone makes false accusations, they don’t give that person proper punishment. Usually a slap on the wrist. Whoever makes the false accusations should face the punishment that the person falsely accused of was facing. No clue what happened in this case |

You have been repeatedly abused and harassed by a number of women. You have no room to speak. Go back to your battered males support group. |
