Christmas BO User Appreciation
Post a Blowout user that you appreciate, and that you think makes Blowout Forums a better place. I will start with:
MiamiMarlinsFan This is something I recall people doing years ago during the holidays, so I'm starting it this year. We all frequently see people complain about users that annoy them, this thread is for the opposite. Show appreciation to a user that you actually like. Good vibes for the holiday season! |
Lil Ol’ me?!
Thanks! I’m just a guy who roots for a terrible team who uses fantasy baseball and sports cards to keep from going crazy as the Marlins trade away their stars. Is this a pay it forward thing? If so, I’ll toss an appreciation shoutout to our boy hermanotarjeta. We don’t always agree on stuff, but he can take it just as well as he dishes it out. So he’s cool in my book ;) |
Great idea!
i will go with Mister2Bits. The man has stuck with Judge AND Ohtani when most people bailed |
I’m mostly a casual observer, but I’d like to show appreciation for the following:
jmsodpc - always great content in the unopened wax section. No drama. cardsin47 - always positive in the unopened wax section. I hope all is well with him as very quiet lately. Puddlemonkey - great sets and better commentary |
I'll throw out a +1 to TBP, always there with a "GOLD" or "NICE" or especially "BLACK" when you show a cool card. Always appreciated. Merry Christmas.

I appreciate BlowoutBuzz. I'm not sure if it's a bot or a real member but without BB posting the upcoming releases I wouldn't know of any new cards until Kyle complains about them.

You've got some sneaky good commentary yourself. Don't think it goes unnoticed. |
Lil Ol’ me?!
I've always appreciated your humor, sarcasm, attitude, in addition to posting cool modern cards. Cheers! I will also shoutout some of the guys from the Acuna thread: SaltyCracker, Rabs, bbteamw, TBP, WharfRat. |

You were the first poster to come to my mind. A guy who really understands that these message boards are inhabited by all forms of living creatures, you remain calm, poised and pleasant throughout. You are definitely in the minority in honoring me, but you are an A+ member in my book and I always welcome your participation in any thread due to your open-mindedness. Besides, anyone who is a Miami Marlins fan deserves some pity ;) |
I appreciate everyone who has posted on My Dodgers thread

I tweet harder than you. Or something. |
I'll toss out a few:
Jaypers for his MiLB thread. It's easily my favorite thread on BO. TBP for his eternal optimism and humor. rwperu for his Bowman tracker and transparent yearly strategies/check-ins/wrapups hermano for scaring me away from those Gilded Storm inserts in perpetuity BlowoutBuzz for the reasons already articulated. I imagine that account's owner as Max Headroom, more or less. Yep, I'm an old... Seanrs - for the unintentional humor on the invest/collect angle, particularly with Ohtani. |
Eye4Talent for the creation of the best thread on Blowout, the pitchers thread! Also to the numerous members who regularly contribute to it.

You're welcome. |
You're welcome.
Much appreciation to PuddleMonkey for the always amusing content! But why are we up at 2 am on Christmas morning? |

I second this! |
ddearing
I’ve linked up with Dan for several years at shows in Chantilly, Philly, and the National. The guy is always sharing his wisdom on what works and doesn’t work, his philosophy behind his business, and has an incredible read on what’s going on with the average collector in our space. His National recap threads here are some of the best and most informative threads you’ll see. |

Same. Becoming good friends with this fella is an amazing bonus. Lots of good people here, but eye4talent is heads and shoulders above them all. |
I’d like to thank our illustrious painter friend for being my Sherpa and guiding me through selling my NFT packs I still had in my account. Bob was very gracious with his time and experience on the platform :)

Hermano--always good to read your material, including the Gilded Storm thread.
Skipscards-- local Maryland guy, always good seeing him at the Slade show Bob Ross-- enjoyed the questioning on every release and price for years, always entertaining.."Does that say $xxx?" Ninja cookies-- primarily over in the basketball thread, the most entertaining guy (to me) on here. |

I hope to continue to decorate the thread throughout the new year and beyond (oh no!) and your input is always, always welcome. We (everyone) are what makes these boards the greatest place to discuss sports cards on earth! |

Good insight on the hobby and when we disagree, it's in a respectful way. Can't always say that these days. Also ninjacookies. Guy is hilarious. 90s basketball references are terrific. In general, thankful for most everyone here. The insight on various aspects of the hobby has been terrific and taught me a lot. Merry Christmas! |

As for ninja, it’s good to know that at least half the fine folks here are able to understand what he’s posting. On that rare occasion, you actually don’t need google translate to figure out what he’s saying, lol. |
Hermano and skipscards, oh and puddlemonkey

Lolz. Puddle must have missed this one |

Taking down one LeBron homer after another, brother. Happy holidays! |
Messier for his National recaps every night of the show and his wrap up when they end! very well written and concise with no bias. Thank you very much!

Two guys in particular have really influenced me on this board -
1) chris_ac inspired me in terms of having an awesome, focused PC. Sometimes I've strayed in the last five years, but his example has always encouraged me to focus on the unique and the high quality. 2) Silent George - who hasn't been around much this year, he's been busy with some project it seems - and the HOF Tracker. I love incessant baseball HOF debates, and he gave an example I've attempted (and failed) to emulate. |
This forum has been slowly dying -- Silent George hasn't posted for a long time. There is a lot less discussion going on. Gambling and group breaking has taken over the hobby -- there used to be plenty of personal show-off posts, if only to pump for resale.
This place is becoming depressing. |

I wasn't one of the suckers that fell for having children. |

Kudos to Jon AKA jlzinck He's a class act with quite the story to tell while spreading joy across the boards Thanks for all you do, Jon |

Same here. I remember him being a high volume poster here, just looked at his profile and see next month will be 10 years since his last activity before being banned. |
Two users who haven’t been named but should be on this thread:
Eastbayak is a positive, informative voice. Premium1981 has a wealth of knowledge and shoots everyone straight. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |
