|
Only beer I can really stand is Yuengling
Love that stuff! Too bad I can't find it anywhere near where I live. |
Favourite Euro beer: lowenbrau
Favourite Micro : Steam whistle Favourite go to: Molson Canadian Lite: Coors Light But I rarely drink these days. |
Favorite Beach Beer - Miller Lite
Favorite Craft Beers - 90 Minute IPA, Final Absolution, and Dragons Milk. |
Tecate, Modelo, and Bud Light
To miller light: why not just drink water to cut out the carbs? |
I love craft beer, and here in Ohio we get some great brands from all over the country (my favorites are Bell's, Founders, Great Lakes, Troegs, Victory, Dogfish Head, Stone, Sierra Nevada...)
I'm a hophead, so I love IPAs. But I love a good porter, stout, and barleywine as well. |
Favorite beer: Tiger
Followed by: Bells Oberon |
Coors light, Sam Adams Summer ale, Molson Golden
|
I'm a craft beer snob, I fully admit it. Can't stand the major brands they don't even compare. And living in San Diego I can get so many local craft beers I really never have to settle for big brand stuff. My personal favorite is Ballast Point, they are growing more and more all the time. The Yellowtail Pale Ale is my favorite.
Also can't go wrong with Karl Strauss Brewery, and I like some Stone Brewery beers not all of them though. |
ROOT...leaves more money for cards.

I've recently been drinking alot of Hop Notch. The Great Lakes Double IPA (name escapes me) is amazing but 2 will put you on your ass. My favorite "somtimes" IPA is Dogfish Aprihop - just enough apricot to not be a girls beer - and still a large ABV. My favorite probably Ohio brewery is Fat Heads - which I think is underrated. |

Haven't you seen Miller, Bud, Coors make their beer? They buy one case of good beer and mix it with three parts tap water and then bottle it. I've enjoyed some Swamp Ape lately. My wife calls me a beer snob. |

and it ain't even close |
I'm not picky when it comes to domestics, but will usually go for Bud Light or Coors Light
However, I really like dark crafts. My favorites are (in no particular order): O'dell Cutthroat Porter Breckenridge Vanilla Porter Ska Ten Pin Porter Ska Buster Nut Brown Ale (... guess I have a thing for CO beers! :D) Big Sky Moose Drool Brown Ale My local fav's: Santa Fe Brewing Java Stout Marble Amber Ale Marble Oatmeal Stout |
Ever wish you were a beer?
Ever wish you were a beer?
Only if she could do that to a keg. BOOM! |
I always switch up every time I get a case of something. Last two cases I got was a Yards Variety case, and a Shiner Family Reunion case.
If I go out and want something cheap, I go Yuengling draft, most of the times I'll get whatever craft beers sound good. The only decent common domestics are Coors Original, and High Life. I never get any crap outside of those two. |
That's it. We are going drinking here in Ohio.

My favorite probably Ohio brewery is Fat Heads - which I think is underrated.
Oh yeah, Ohio has great distribution when it comes to good beer, that's for sure. Bell's Two-Hearted is great. It's a little on the sweeter-side for an IPA and isn't too bitter, but that is why a lot of people love it. Personally, I usually prefer an IPA with a pretty dry finish (like Stone IPA). Great Lakes produces 2 double IPAs - Lake Erie Monster & Alchemy Hour. Both are fantastic, but yes, at around 9% ABV, if you drink more than a couple, you're gonna be lying down somewhere afterwards. Fat Heads is known for their HeadHunter IPA. It's dry hopped with Simcoe hops and has won many awards in the last couple of years. |

I know I've got a 4 pack of HeadHunter in my fridge now. |
My fallback is Creemore Springs but I don't mind trying new things.

Sam Adams especially their Triple Bock
|
I like Corona for summer, Blue Moon for fall/winter and Stella anytime

Has anyone ever had Cat Piss from Evil Twin? Yes, this is a real beer. I never have had it but would love to try it.
The name comes from when brewers use large quantities of hops in their beers, sometimes the aroma gives off a very pungent smell, somewhat reminiscent of cat urine. |
If I was offered one beer before I died, I would request a Founder's Kentucky Breakfast Stout. Simply incredible but so hard to come by. They only release it once a year and the demand for it far exceeds their supply. I hear that next year's release will be much bigger but we will see.
I was at Founder's yesterday with my Dad, brother and four uncles. I got lucky and they had Backwoods Bastard on tap. I had my growler filled up with Double Trouble. It was also the first day of their most recent Backstage Series release - Mango Magnifico con Calor. I left Founder's with two 22's of the Mango as well. You can't go wrong with anything from Founder's. They are money in the bank. By the way, anyone on here cellar any brews? |
Founder's Backwoods Bastard is f'n fantastic.

I have a few beers I am currently cellaring (although I don't cellar much). I actually have a Founders Imperial Stout from 2011. I have a few Sierra Nevada Bigfoots, Dogfish Head Burton Batons, a Dark Horse Plead the fifth, and a few Belgian beers. It is amazing how some imperial stouts and barleywines get better with age! |
Pretty much anything Founders puts out. Samuel Smith's stouts are amazing...especially their Organic Chocolate Stout.

Anyone ever have Olde Bluehair Barleywine?
|
Landshark and Newcastle
|
Three Floyd's Zombiedust. Only ever had it on tap, but so dang good.
I typically drink either Bell's Two Hearted or Sierra Nevada Torpedo. In a pinch though I'm happy to drink some Steel Reserve. And I love a good PBR. I should also add, I was born in Massachusetts and live in Ohio and like both more as states. But the booze in Indiana, especially in Bloomington...whole other level. Their liquor stores put other state liquor stores to shame. And Bloomington has a bar called Yogi's that has the best draft options I've ever seen PLUS they have beer school once a week where you just show up and they give you samples of like 6-7 beers for free. Awesome place and great way to try lots of good beer. Also Sixpoint Bengali Tiger is awesome |
Southern Tier 2XIPA
|
Tripel Karmeliet is my favorite when I don't care about how much I spend. For everyday drinkin beer I go with tecate/modelo/yuengling

Goes by the name Natty Light, Natty Ice or King Cobra. In college, when money was tight on football Saturday a buddy and I would walk to the Texaco across from campus and buy a case of Mickey's Ice. That was twelve 32-ounce bottles for $15, out the door. We each started the football morning with a 1.5 gallons each. |

Young's Double Chocolate Stout.
Trust me. |
Pliny the Elder would be my first choice but it's not easy to find. Of the more standard beers that are out there, I would go Guinness first and Hoegarden second.

I need to try more Green Flash, it's the next big thing in San Diego looks like. I had one I didn't like, but it was some beer I don't normally like anyway so unfair to judge them on that one. |
Victory: Golden Monkey
Southampton Double White Spring House Brewing Atomic Raygun (partially because of name, but a good stout) |
Just tried a Dogfish Head Raison D'Etre.....pretty tasty. Don't know all the beer buzzwords...but its 8%abv, not overpowering though, has a sweet first taste, no nasty aftertaste...really good flavor overall. I'd recommend it.
