****Official Red Sox Thread Gametime+Sox Talk****
I know we have a Offseason thread but now we need our Season thread as Spring Training starts....
Less then two months till the sox start |
Excited for baseball but less than enthused for this season.
I have a feeling watching this pitching staff will be like watch Daisuke pitch every day...pure torture. |
Excited for baseball but less than enthused for this season.
I have a feeling watching this pitching staff will be like watch Daisuke pitch every day...pure torture.
I think the pitching will be ok...not great but good enough....as long as the bats produce the way they should that is. It certainly will not be like last year where the pitching was good (early in the season) but they scored no runs (if they are not scoring runs with this lineup, they are in trouble). |
We are taking the worlds dumbest risk by relying on the bats to carry us.
|
Looks like are skipper will be around for a couple more years with this extension
|
Well Hanley looks like he has been using the roids this offseason..
|
Also Rusney is out with oblique injury
|
Also Rusney is out with oblique injury
Well that took a long time. How long is he expected to be out? |
Well Hanley looks like he has been using the roids this offseason..
When they told him he was moving to the outfield, he hit the weight room. They said he is around 225/230. |
Bogaerts had a nice game today
|
Ready for the season to begin! I mean really begin.
|
Bogaerts had a nice game today
He looked pretty good. |
Anyone see Pandas comments on the Giants? Pretty Interesting.
|
I think I'm like most. Super excited for the offense, super nervous about the pitching. Just glad that baseball is starting again. I'm curious to see how they handle the backlog in the OF (maybe a big trade somewhere down the road). Can't wait to see how Betts/Xander come out of the gate this year. Looking for a MONSTER comeback year for Pedroia. Should be a lot of fun!

I think this for the outfield: Rusney: Starts in AAA this year. Hanley In left, Mookie In Center and Victorino in right |

As a Giants fan, no surprise, the beat reporters already said last spring training that he was insulted at not getting a deal and there was pretty much a 0% he'd come back....so, he was probably grumbling well before this..lol. Giants were wanting to see a consistent season out of him probably. As for the people he misses, kind of rude for him to say only two people when I'm sure many of his teammates supported him...of course Posey and some others did call him out once for getting fat..he probably felt like a kid in SF coming up thru the system and being there so long, now wants to try to be a man elsewhere. |
Spring training game starts at 1:05 anyone watching?
Its on MLB Network and NESN. Matt Barnes has also looked great at Spring Training so far |
I'll probably just listen today if its on the radio, too much work on my desk to give up one of my monitors to the game.

|
I friggin' can't wait to park my arse at Fenway and watch a game. So good.
Bogaerts off to a good start in Spring Training; hopefully he shapes up at the plate this year. And with regard to the rotation, I have a feeling it'll surprise to the upside, I really do. All that hitting and a good to very good rotation could be a great combination. |
Holt gets walked on a very very inside pitch

Just saw the sox won today!
Pablo and Big Papi hit Homeruns. Also this would be our 7th straight |

Looks like Mookie will be our center fielder
|
So which injury hurts us more?
Vasquez, Kelly or Koji? |
OK sooo first game tomorrow at 3:05, I'm getting out of work early to watch it!
|
So which injury hurts us more?
Vasquez, Kelly or Koji?
Missing Vazquez hurts the most IMO. He was ready to take control of the pitching staff and they trusted his game calling. It would have been nice to have the quality game caller that he is. Hannigan scares me. Kinda of a bummer not seeing Napoli in the lineup today after such a good spring But that's what happens playing in an NL park. Hope Papi does work. |
