I think its just difficult to try to get anything out of the article since Lennie hasnt actually been killed yet. Once he actually dies, perhaps more of the numbers or other things will make sense. :)!

I may be missing something but has anyone posted a picture of the full front page yet?

I disagree.

We know a lot from the article already.

We know time of death
We know placement of body
We know first suspect
We know possible murder weapons
We know he was bludgeoned
We know the body probably wasn't killed on alley 17

we get a lot of info from the newspaper which also raises a lot of questions. Like how did the sheriff hurt his back? Or why does the article tell us that the Q&A section will only be about the murder and then on the 30th the Q&A can be about anything?

We need to start asking questions now on what we do know. The murder happens in a week and the more prepared you are the better.

I have a strong feeling that you are going to need to think like a detective here. Every piece of info will be key to this.

garpike 07-12-2012 03:31 PM

I wanna see he other 7 pages of the paper!! LOL! Just when I was getting into the articles...BAM see other sheet that doesn't exist!

OR...wait....Maybe we got to find the other sheets.

This was the first thing that popped out to me.

Here's my take for what it's worth:

I think Cynthia Pritchard did it.

Lennie use to help Cynthia's mom out when he could and was a frequent in the diner. Lennie also did not apporve of his son seeing Cynthia. I think Lennie is the father of Cynthia and that is why he use to help Jackie Pritchard out. Lennie got married in 1995 and was killed in 2012 - (17 years) Cynthia is 16 so who's to say Jackie didnt get pregnant shortly after Lennie got married and Cynthia would be turning 17 later this year.

Maybe Cynthia found out and let your imagination run from there...

I would argue that we dont have a first suspect because gloria platt was simply the one to find him (article says she is an octogenarian which means age 80-89) she would be far to old to drag a man described as a "bear" from behind the counter out to the middle of lane 17.

I am curious what all the tweets mean, there are some cryptic sounding ones.

the1runt 07-12-2012 05:03 PM

the ginter code twitter account retweeted a message from Lennie
Hmm RT @GuttmansGutters: Come on down to Guttman's Gutters tonight for the start of the ‪#2012WillowCoveBowlingChampionships‬! Let's do this!

the1runt 07-12-2012 05:11 PM

The article only says that it appears that he was dragged to lane 17. It could however be possible that he was in a scuffle with the perp got bloody then was left for dead, but managed to slither him self over to lane 17 as a sign as to who'd done it.

Also, while the bloody bowling pin does seem to be the obvious murder weapon, it could have been used by Lennie for self defense , although it's positioning in the ball return at lane two doesn't lend itself to my theory.

lauriontj 07-12-2012 05:29 PM

Your right that mrs platt would be to old to drag a big man onto lane 17, however, do not count her out just yet.

Maybe it was more than one person???

FWIW, the paper says "Vol.125 No. 171" and is dated 7/18/2012.

Assuming they start at Jan 1,2012 and call that No. 1, 7/19/2012 is actually the 171st day of the year.

mnvikingstwins 07-12-2012 05:50 PM

Hopefully everyone eventually realizes this is a completely fictional murder with how in-depth some of the character study is and will be.

you're thinking june, this is referring to july.

Derp.
I got so wrapped up in the number of the days, I didn't look at the month.
So, 171 is correct, which means there is no Sunday paper.

m2cool2go 07-13-2012 02:48 PM

has anyone put together what the paper would look like if you turn it over yet?

lauriontj 07-13-2012 03:11 PM

That's a good idea!

MSD 07-13-2012 09:01 PM

Finally got some free time to read the paper and clue cards. Most of the signs point to one person, but it may be too obvious.

Has anyone actually gotten anything done that's not just pure speculation? Or are we all just waiting for the murder to finally happen?

blowe12 07-13-2012 09:37 PM

I dont think its so much of figuring out who done it as much as it is figuring out where to go next after completing the paper and seeing the tweets :)!

HeritageKing 07-13-2012 10:07 PM

So do you have to follow all these "people" on twitter?

There's a handful of characters with a motive for the murder, and most of the "evidence" have yet to be analyzed by the police; I'd say wait and see for now...

blowe12 07-14-2012 07:20 PM

Anyone come up with anything today? :)

msucollector4 07-14-2012 09:53 PM

Wonder if this ties in?
