MLB The Show 2017
 

Well it's that time of the year again. Game will be released on 3/28.

Which version do you all plan on getting?

Last year I got the MVP edition ($70) but this year I am thinking about just getting the standard.

Here is what you get with the MVP edition this year:
5,000 Stubs
1 MLB The Show 17 Gold Season Starter Pack (includes Mission starter for Gold Item)
1 Sponsor Pack
10 Standard Packs
31 PS4 Themes

With the standard edition, you still get the 10 standard packs, but that's it. And on Amazon you get 20% off for preordering the standard edition. So essentially the MVP edition will cost an extra $20. Almost doesn't seem worth it for what you get.

What do you all think?

I'll get the standard edition. The other editions are a waste of money IMO

This will never happen. The game is worth getting a PS4 to play it. I have both consoles and do prefer the PS4 over the XONE.

Got this game for the first time last year and loved it, but doubt I will get it this year.

Maybe. Got a Wii U I don't play much in perfect condition. Could probably cover most-all of a used ps4

Funny, I got the PS4 simply for the fact that the One didn't have this game. Never tried it before, but it looked amazing. Glad I did.

Still prefer the Xbox for most games, but the PS4 has MLB the Show and The Last of Us that are two exclusives worth owning the system for

I cannot wait for this game to come out. The game was incredible last year, I can't wait to see it with all of the improvements they made this year!

This is the route I am going as well. Pretty good deal and we should get it on release day too.

I know there is some retro type mode this year but don't know all the details about it.

I am pretty sure it is a slightly more pixelated version of the regular game but you only use "classic controls", like one or two buttons. you can move around in the batters box like the old games. Should be a cool feature but I don't think many will buy for just this game mode

man MLB the show 2016 is epic.. i'm still playing it sometimes lol

i'll probably wait until 2018 comes out with JETER on the cover... I usually buy sports games (mlb, nba, nfl) every other year.

I always do the digital version of this so that my son can play on his PS4 same time I am playing on mine...

I'm trying to find a way to raise the funds to buy a PS4 this year because they are no longer making the Show for PS3. I don't play my PS a ton (kids/work and such) so I hadn't upgraded yet. But I figure if I can sell my PS3/Games plus the cards I've been selling I might be able to snag one soon.



I would only go standard version because I don't play Diamond Dynasty at all and that's where most of the bonus content goes towards.

Diamond Dynasty was all I played last year. I never spent one second in franchise although I'm sure that mode is good also. Same thing with Madden, all I did was play Ultimate Team and never set foot in franchise. These games are so comprehensive now it's pretty amazing all the things you can do in them.

I played a ton of Diamond Dynasty early on, was really fun. I eventually started to play all modes include Road to the Show and Franchise. You can't go wrong with any of them really

I hear ya, I prefer to typically play RTTS or Franchise. I like the Franchise for the wanna-be GM in me, and the RTTS for the actual gameplay desire.

I just enjoy the franchise, building a team and so on, I don't usually play online modes at all

I think the thing that makes Diamond Dynasty fun is the fact that your lineup is constantly changing. One week you're trying to build the best roster you can, then you're playing a lineup with as many Under 25 players, then you're playing a lineup with players over the height of 6'5" etc

I really enjoyed the challenges of trying to put as many of those players in my lineup in order to buy the cards from the player achievements

Remember playing with a member on here last year. My mic wasn't working, but remember something hilarious happening. BO member was laughing profusely and I was too but he just couldn't hear me lol
