Any recommendations where to sell/auction a 48 bowman bvg 9.5 and value help
I recently sent 212 cards from the 40's in baseball basketball and boxing to bgs... The highlight was a 1948 bowman rc bob davies bvg 9.5 (only 9.5 for whole set in pop)... A PSA 9 sold for 1410.00.... i am trying to figure out a value to post it at in my ebay store or if i should use a high end auction site..... I have many other high grade 9's, 8.'5 and 8's from 48 bow bkb, 48 bow base and 48 leaf boxing..... these all came from a great collection that walked through the door at my store..... i don't have scan yet
any advice would be great |
I'd greatly advise, sending to PSA to try to get it to cross over to a PSA 10. They can grade it without cracking it out. Then once I had a PSA 10, if it crossed, I'd look over the 1948 Bowman registry, and see who needed it to up their set GPA. You can message most of the registry guys and work out a deal, without dealing with Ebay fee's. If I couldn't get the card to cross to a PSA 10, I'd still try to sell it to the registry guys, as someone would try to take a chance at a crossover. Just know that a vintage BGS 9.5 will not sell anywhere near a PSA 10, or possible a PSA 9

Use a high-end catalog auction. It will get far more serious eyeballs there than on ebay.

Robert Edward Auctions. Lots of high end and an amazing catalog that they send out and I think you get 100% of sale price. PSA would likely sell better. Good luck and congrats

Im not saying beckett is bad, but if youre trying to maximize your profit when grading vintage cards, use PSA or SGC.

I was more looking for value thoughts and who to use to sell it.... I already know PSA sells at a higher value.
Its the only 9.5 in the entire set... its not like they are handing out 9.5's on these.... I strongly doubt its going to sell less then a PSA 9. |
BVG actually does a a great job, imo, of grading. Unfortunately they don't market their vintage grading well and seem to prefer to stay in the newer market. I have used them a few times but almost all of my collection is SGC graded.
any of the major auction houses would do fine with the card in question...but as mentioned it wouldn't hurt to try a few of the BST spots either. |
