How Often Do You Get Stuck With Making The Next Pot Of Coffee At Work?

It seems like some prick in my building always leaves next to nothing in the pot and doesn't make a fresh one when he takes the last cup.

Coffee, yuck

Bostonsports1 05-10-2016 07:14 AM

Create a passive aggressive sign and put it right by the coffee maker. I hear that's what they do nowadays. I work from home 4/5 days a week and we have a kureig in the office but it does annoy me when people don't trash their kcup after making it.

Rule of thumb....people suck and are lazy.

Never fails. People will take less than a cup so they don't have to make a new pot.

Also they will NEVER take the last cootie, donut, donut hole because it will require them to throw out the box.

I use a Keurig at work.

Athey49 05-10-2016 07:53 AM

Quite often I'm the one changing it. Lots of times the last person will be too lazy to even turn it off when it's almost empty, making me have to scrub the carmalized coffee off the bottom of the pot.

It bugs me to an extent, although I like my coffee stronger than most so I get to make it however I like due to their laziness

Hahaha!! I never take the last "cootie"...I just toss out that old box!!

I take a thermos full of my own coffee because I don't want to end up paying $10 per week in the cafeteria and there are only K cup coffee makers at work, not a fan of those.

chipmaster 05-10-2016 08:15 AM

We have one of these, it doesn't make the best cup of coffee but I don't complain about free stuff. I customized it.

Switch the Decaf with the Caffeinated next time you go away for a few days, lol.

We have a Keurig at my office but I am always the one that ends up filling the water reseviour. Is this something similar?

TrueNE_09 05-10-2016 08:22 AM

My office has one of those nifty personal coffee makers (not the Keurig, but some other brand that uses little sleeves, I forget what it's called) so I can't really vote, but I can certainly appreciate your discontent with lazy colleagues. I can relate in many others ways....

For example:

There is an entire cabinet full of individually sealed paper towel rolls literally above the sink, yet multiple times a week I go to look for a the roll and some lazy SOB will have used the last one and not opened a new one. Seriously?

There are two recycle bins in the kitchen, as are there two regular trash cans. The recycle bin asks that you rinse off the items before depositing them. The two (recycle & regular) are a foot from each other. What do people do? They throw all their friggin recyclables into the regular trash. Whether it's because they're too lazy to rinse or just because they couldn't give a flying F...I don't know. Either way, they don't recycle much.

Dish washing. I go in there with hopes of just quickly rinsing out my recyclables (paper coffee cup, yogurt container, etc) to throw them into the recycle bin and I've got Johnny Does His Dishes sitting there and taking his sweet a$$ time rinsing and carefully washing (with dish soap) each of his dishes (he brings in food and has regular dishes & silverware, etc). The dude sits there for 10 minutes doing his damn dishes. Hope you enjoyed your lentils, dick nut.

As Zinck said earlier, people are just generally lazy and suck at life for the most part.

When we opened our agency I told my wife to order a decent coffee maker not to expensive but that can suit the office. She wound up getting this obsolete coffee maker that only makes 3 cups before you have to fill up the water reserve and takes coffee Pods which are pretty much a PIA to find.

Hallco 05-10-2016 02:06 PM

Never. I keep my own coffee, pot, sugar and plastic spoons in my office and dare anyone to use it! :deadpool: :)!

Liberal office eh? (first comma misplaced)

jcardstore 05-10-2016 02:09 PM

Thank god we have a Keurig. We have one of those super expensive ones too that you don't have to refill the water or even throw away your own cups lol

IndySportsCards 05-10-2016 02:13 PM

Every day as it's mine and it's on my desk.

oldgoldy97 05-10-2016 02:16 PM

I unlock the door in the morning. If there's coffee still in the pot, it's from the previous night.

We'll call it that.

I swear I'm the only one here that fills it up as well.

Lazy #@#@#@#@s.

That would be the actual Pot....Mr. Kettle Black! :p :D :coffee:

LCM1223 05-10-2016 06:12 PM

Surprised this many people don't drink coffee.

JMarchand1981 05-10-2016 06:50 PM

I make coffee at least once a day. I don't mind. I drink a lot of it.

sonnyday 05-10-2016 07:10 PM

Jura XJ9 , the Cadillac of coffee makers. Hooked up to the water line. Have the cleaning lady trained to pour in beans when low. Anything else would be uncivilized.

Cervantes 05-10-2016 09:52 PM

I'm the first one there every day, so I make it.

( It's only the owner and I, lol )

TwinGnats 05-10-2016 10:05 PM

Being irritated about not making a fresh pot of coffee makes sense because it takes time for it to make enough for the next person.

However, anything that takes the time just to do the activity shouldn't irritate anyone.

Restocking printer paper comes to mind. If its out and you need it, then you drew the short straw.

thedarkbrown 05-10-2016 11:40 PM

None, I hate coffee, but for those who do the cafe workers replenish. We get free drinks :)
