Harden BGS 10

I dunno about you guys but it scares that crap out of me that there are people in the hobby who can get these grades.

Just a matter of time until we see a Curry 9.5 turned into a BGS 10

XARZY 05-12-2016 08:31 AM

Gotta say that 3 sub bumps is ridiculous. I resub in hopes of 1 sub bump and this guy got 3!

minnesotachill 05-12-2016 09:47 AM

I was asked to take down the picture of the regraded BGS 10 Harden.

A company that sells cards doesn't want one of their high end cards pictured on the most trafficked sports card forum on the whole of the internets.....says red flag to me. That being said though, they have some totally sick stuff on their site.

I'm not a lawyer, but couldn't this be argued as "fair use"? If not, just post a link to it instead.

Here's the link: http://buynicecards.com/index.php/2009-10-james-harden-national-treasures-rc-rookie-patch-auto-99-bgs-10-pop-1.html?___SID=U

pejc300 05-12-2016 06:05 PM

That is egregious. 3 subgrades bumped up. SMH.

SPauthentic84 05-12-2016 06:12 PM

With all do respect guys...whether or not it's a harden rpa or a Jordan rookie, it's all subjective.

If you unstab a card and send it back in, there is a very good chance it will be graded by a different overweight guy making $17 an hour. It's going to be different

fullmetal 05-12-2016 06:16 PM

The serial numbers should be maintained in the population reports, but the grading companies refuse to do something that would benefit the hobby and add 10-15 seconds to their process.

Grading should now be done by a computer. Input the criteria and base all comparisons on that criteria. Cards could even be ranked with the precision that already exists. The companies could cut labor costs at the same time.

minnesotachill 05-12-2016 06:16 PM

The card was graded 9.5 with amazing 9.5 subs and at some point someone said, this just isn't acceptable.

That's what blows my mind with this whole thing. It makes me really think about that sellers entire inventory and wonder if everything has been regraded dozens of times until their mint cards get pristine grades.

SPauthentic84 05-12-2016 06:19 PM

So is it the seller or the grading company?

dwest13cavs 05-12-2016 06:22 PM

The card scan is definitely not copyrighted lol. It is being used for information purposes and not for gain or profit.

Someone who has perfected the craft of shaving edges and corners.

Numerous cards with minor flaws sell on eBay only to reappear in better condition and it occurs at a high frequency with a few particular selling accounts.

Now you are talking about something totally different

Lee42 05-12-2016 06:46 PM

This is the card they are talking about?

rookies 05-12-2016 07:24 PM

He cut the corner on my old lebron exquisite RPA /99 100% cut the edge of the card. As well as a few other cards that I have owned it appears the same thing I would love to point out to beckett or something but probably wouldnt do much Im almost 100% over grading now 9.5s are just fake. If card looks nice buy it.

Don't know what is more lame, the BGS bump or the "copyright" b.s. he threatened the OP with - which apparenty worked. So he is essentially claiming that the "card" is HIS created "work" AND he has it on file with the United States Copyright Office. Yea OK. More like a guy who doesn't want people to know about the history of the card and is bullying people who want to reveal the truth.

If he reads this, go ahead and post a scan of the U.S. Copyright Office Certificate of Registration right here as your prima facie evidence and we'll all cease-and-desist and lI'll go stfu :)!

Mongol 05-12-2016 07:36 PM

Manipulation. Flippers. Destroy this hobby. If you do this for a living, I guess you get a pass as a flipper.

sniperx 05-12-2016 08:20 PM

That's such BS bro. Is there even a difference between a 9.5 or a 10? I personally don't see it

This is crazy to think about.

He actually cracks the cards out to regrade them, right? Or does BGS allow you to send the card in the BGS holder for regrading?

Exactly. He needs to claim the photo of a basketball card is an artwork. Unless OP uses this picture to trick people to purchase, I don't see anything wrong with it.

rookies 05-12-2016 08:26 PM

He probably cut the edges on it he has done that with the others apparently.

I would say there is difference, but not materially enough to have different grade.

However, people LOVE 10. They always think 9.5 is a defect card. That is the whole problem in this community when people pay x2-x5 on BGS 10 over BGS 9.5.

The incentive is just so high that any crook would do it. At worst, you just shift the blame to BGS.

Idol 05-13-2016 07:27 AM

That's not a copyright. Your not using it to sell card your simply posting it for information.

Rareairx23 05-13-2016 07:37 AM

If it's buynicecards.com, he's a member here, his name is ebitz. I have nothing but good things to say about him, and I'm not calling anybody a liar, I just have a hard time believing that he would manipulate a card, and that he would try to bully somebody about a picture

ebitz 05-13-2016 08:15 AM

I’m just only to make one post on this thread in effort to clear a few thing up
1. I do not own the james harden in question, I am offered it for sale for another fellow member of the boards who offered to chime in on this discussion but I told him he didn’t have to. I just receive the card about a week ago as a BGS 10 and have never seen it before or even touched it when it was ungraded
2. @rookies, the lebron exquisite you mentioned I bought as a BGS 9, so that is two different attacks you have made toward me without evening knowing the facts or maybe asking me or someone else about it, I would appreciate you knowing looking into what you are talking about before making such strong accusations towards me.
3. I take all of my own photos and copyright them because on probably about 5+ difference occasions people have gone in and taken my photos and opened their own ebay store with my photos and listed my cards at higher prices than my asking prices. Copyrighting them was the only idea I could think to do to try to prevent this from happening. But I realize that once an image is on the web somewhere its hard to really do much to protect
4. I did politely ask minnesotachill if he could take my photo with my logo down, I am fine with having the link up that @jj2 listed, but to even suggest that I “bullied” minnesotachill is very far from the truth and also offensive to me that someone would suggest I did that.
5. I have been a member on this board since 2010 have over 180 positive feedback and probably another 100 or so that not been documented. I have made a lot of great friends and contacts through the forum and have always tried to do the right thing, while I am no means perfect I always try my best to treat people kindly and fairly and would appreciate the same in return. If anyone else has anything else they would like to address to me feel free to contact me directly, thanks
