BEWARE ON EBAY .. Don't deal with AIRTRUCKER98
He bought a $500 plus card from me on July 12 through ebay and he received it on July 16. He left positive feedback the same day, A+ seller is what he put for feedback. Now out of nowhere, he sends a request to return the item today. The player has gone down a bit in price of course, this is in my opinion the absolute worst part about this business. It's beyond bad business, it's pathetic. Please block this buyer. There should be a 3-day period after you receive an item, where you can no longer return it. Ebay better do something about this soon, it's absolutely ridiculous what the buyer can get away with

The credit card companies allow up to 6 months, so eBay can not do a quick return as they would be swamped with more Credit Card challenges than they do now. If you allow returns, a buyer can return for any reason including finding a lower price, if you do not allow returns eBay has to allow a buyer to return if they see fit or people will get their financial institutions involved and eBay will be forced to take the returns. Just the nature of eBay becoming a "major retailer" |

If you accept returns on your eBay then the reason doesn't matter sadly. |

Yes, I do allow returns and have no problem with them, if you don't like the item shortly after you receive it, returns are perfectly acceptable. I have a major problem with someone trying to take advantage of the rules to screw the seller. |

I understand and it stinks but it's the rules he could have found a better price and done the same and eBay encourages and allows it. Just the nature of the beast. |
He could've listed "moving to the international space station" as the reason for return. It's all street legal as long as you get the card back in the same condition it went out.

Selling on eBay sucks lately. You can't trust anyone anymore and eBay give doesn't give 2 shts.

You have to allow returns. You can say that you don't allow them all you want, but eBay will force you to if buyer claims "item not as described," which is a massive gray area as we all know. |
It's funny.... This is the same buyer (airtrucker) who told someone I know at my LCS a week after he won the auction of a card that he was not going to be paying because his son bid on the card and has for sure disciplined his son, and wouldn't happen again. :coffee::confused:

Correct, but if you do not have returns listed they can not return it for reasons like this, the buyer would need to use the not as described and be dishonest (which does happen) |

Right. So you might as well accept returns. These jerks have no issue lying about the reason for the return, and worse yet, you hear stories of them actually damaging the card just to facilitate the return. Yet another reason that I'm glad I stopped prospecting. |

This is where you have to make the decision as to where to roll the dice when things like this can happen vs not happen based on what you set up as a seller. I dont offer returns, period, so this cant happen. Its not worth it mate. |

Do you have the 20% restocking fee set on your listings? I did that a couple months ago and haven't had any returns since. |

In my opinion, no you dont. I have (knock on wood) - had like 1 person do this over 6 years of activity - if I accept returns it opens up the floodgates. |
