I think Rodgers nails it with his comment on Kaepernick and racial inequality.

Aaron Rodgers: racial injustice is 'real' and Kaepernick should be in NFL
Um....if he hadn't opted out he would be in the NFL. amirite? |
I think teams just don't want the media distraction.

For certain teams, I cannot rule out that reason being a convenient excuse for the real reason Kaepernick is banned. Some of the negative reactions drawn in this very board is a microcosm of society, and the very thing Kaepernick is protesting against. I'm not saying people are racists for denouncing Kaepernick's actions. But I'd say those people don't see the problem in America -- and not seeing the problem is a big problem. Aaron Rodgers admits that he doesn't understand the problem, because he is not black, but he does see the problem and is thus supportive of Kaepernick's protest. |
I don't know what his asking price is. If is looking for 'starter' money and expect to be a starter, I can see why he is still looking for a job. If he is willing to settle for a vet minimum and be a backup, than the only reason he isn't on a roster is collusion/blacklist. He has more talent and skill than at least 30-40 QBs sitting on rosters now. I am so done with the kneeling/anthem thing. If Stafford or Big Ben goes down and he can come in and win games, than I am all for it. This goes for most starting QBs. Fans will forgive and forget as well if he plays well.

I sure as hell hope so Kaepernick can take a flying leap as far as I'm concerned. He's an awful QB, and also bad for the league. Move to Canada and play up there. Heck, they welcomed Art Briles briefly. He should fit right in with our neighbors to the north. |
Kaep is inaccurate and not going to lead your team to the Lombardi, why would you bother using valuable cap space on him? He's simply not a good QB, and he turns 30 shortly.
If you're a team that needs a new QB at least try to develop cheaper, younger talent like the Jets are right now - not saying they'll succeed but it's way cheaper and if you get lucky you're set for years. Look at what the Skins did with Cousins. They could have brought in a veteran behind RG3 but they finally did something smart instead and developed a young guy who got better as the team improved around him. Look at the Eagles - they're ~2+ years away from competing for a title. What good is a 33-yr old Kaep sucking up valuable cap dollars and a roster spot when that happens? I fully support his freedom of speech but there's no freedom from consequences in the Bill of Rights. If he was a solid NFL starter, he'd have been signed instantly but he's not. He stinks. And he opted out of his 49ers contract. |
He may not be a great QB, but he is better than at least a 1/3 of the starting QBs this year. There is stuff that is going on. I know that this board is not the place to discuss what is truly going on here. We have been over it again and again. The kneeling for the anthem is just a convenient way to hate on the dude, because he does not fit your view of what a QB should be.

Tom Brady would never say something so dumb. Why he's the GOAT.

It's just hard to believe that, in a league where Greg Hardy got signed, that Kaep isn't signed because he kneeled during the national anthem. My opinion only--this is an ESPN-fueled narrative and it's completely (ok, 90% made up). The Kaepernick situation has very little to do with kneeling and a lot of similarities to Tim Tebow not getting signed a few years ago. I understand Kaep is A LOT better QB than Tebow but they are both guys whose talent level just ended up not justifying the circus that surrounds them. Is it racism to look at a player and think "he's not worth the headaches"? Absolutely not. It's not an NFL owner's or GM's fault that signing Kaepernick is going to bring a bunch of media attention. Once you sign him, how long until ESPN starts running with "is Kaepernick not starting because he's black? Because he kneeled?" Bottom line--Colin was REALLY good when his HC was a QB-guru who hand-picked him as the starter. After Harbaugh left, he was pretty pedestrian. Why put up with the headaches that will surround him just to sign him as a back-up QB? |

He should be doing his SJW stuff outside of the work place. The majority of fans disagree with players kneeling during the anthem. I find it very funny that we don't hear from him at all now, but I'm sure if he gets signed tomorrow, he'd go on and on about Trump, the police, prisons etc. People are feeling bad for this guy. Give it up. What he did didn't sit well with the fans and league. Made his bed, now he gets to lay in it. |
but he is better than at least a 1/3 of the starting QBs this year. .
Let's assume this is fact. Which 11 teams would he be starting for were he be better? How does his style fit into their system? I think the number MIGHT be 4 or 5 teams max. If these teams are that bad they will not pay starting money for him. Remember he had a job. He opted out. |

All that talent equaled a whopping 3 wins the last 2 seasons and only 1 last year. :)! |

3-16 over the last 2 years does not fit my view of what a QB should be. Does he want to be a NFL starting QB or a NFL SJW? Can't be both. |
Shady said it best. He might be good enough to be on a team if he didn't come with the drama, but with the distractions, not worth it.
|
I cant take Rogers seriously with that pr0n-stash hes wearing.
