Do you believe him?

Siberian13 11-28-2017 02:13 PM

I want to believe him but it's hard with addicts. You just never know

nabzy28 11-28-2017 02:13 PM

Hopefully he does but, it's the Browns, so failure by association.

gottagitdemjs 11-28-2017 02:39 PM

For the love of my Contenders cracked ice....please let the answer be yes

motu79 11-28-2017 02:45 PM

I hope so. I imagine he stays sober throughout the rest of his football career, but could see him relapsing once it's over.

majestik101 11-28-2017 02:46 PM

hmmm do I believe Josh Gordon. Someone who has consistently lied to his coaches and management and press media. Hmmm....

I think we will know sooner than later if he is sober

You may as well ask if Johnny Manziel is sober

Ray27Ray52 11-28-2017 03:07 PM

Don't know, don't care. Still trying to figure out why so many people care about a guy who hasn't played in 3 years.

People still care about Tebow and Kap too. I think people want a feel good story is all.

Better question, who has a harder time being sober; Gordon or Browns fans?

IronMonkey415 11-28-2017 04:36 PM

DAMN!!!! He said WHICH ONE. You guys find the full video for me.
Very quick and fast with the wit.

ILOVEBEER 11-28-2017 05:02 PM

Josh appears to still be in great shape. All he has to do is catch and run. Just one win!

True but I also believe that once something is taken from you, sometimes you realize how much you miss it and do what it takes to get it back.

Side note ..Most addicts who have had an epiphany or gotten help are EXTREMELY honest .. I wonder how NFL teams and people are viewing Josh's very public truth about what he was doing at Baylor/NFL?

Yeah, forget him staying sober for his health.

Hold up.. read some tidbits on more of the high school/ college stuff and WTH man?! Dude was playing real life grand theft auto? Geezus

"Every weekend, he says, a fight would break out and there’d be a flurry of bullets; he caught one in the left arm during his junior year. Gordon says he never “maliciously” shot anyone, but he often had to shoot “to get out, to cause some type of hesitation—a pause so you could keep moving.” He says he sold drugs, mostly weed and mostly at school, “to feed myself.” But the majority of his income came from counterfeit money. The gang would spend $100 to get $2,000 in fake currency, Gordon says, then he would go to McDonald’s and buy five $1 cheeseburgers with a large bill in order to get the legit change.

Gordon would steal cars “almost every day,” he says, because “we just needed a ride.” He would either shatter a vehicle’s window or manipulate the locking mechanism, and his partner would do the hot-wiring. He also worked on a three-man crew that broke into homes—always empty, he says, but he was often carrying a gun—to steal electronics. “Whenever [the gang] could use you, exploit you on anything that puts you in danger of going to prison,” he says, “[I’d] be the guy.”

Gordon says he smoked marijuana every day at Lamar and drank vodka from Minute Maid bottles during class. His junior year he started drinking codeine syrup mixed with soda—or “lean”—every night. Whenever someone offered, he’d pop Xanax, hydrocodone, oxycodone. Before football games he’d chug Mad Dog 20-20 straight out of the bottle just to see if he could play drunk. He was arrested for felony credit card theft five days after his 17th birthday and, no longer a minor, spent 35 days locked up. “You get shot, you go to jail,” Gordon says. “These are progressions in this lifestyle.”

Where is this from?

rman112 11-28-2017 05:40 PM

Just saw the article.

I think it's safe to say the "innocent addict" lifeline can be cut off now.

The Cavs winning helped take away some pain. The Indians stress me out more. I'm numb to the Browns losing.

Earlsnake07 11-28-2017 05:46 PM

I am rooting for him - dude needs some positive in his life and hopefully after all the S he has went through he found it.

Selling weed is one thing. Selling weight on a consistent basis is another thing. Being a goon is a whole 'nother other thing. No sympathy here.

Ya, I had to edit my original post when one small article only spoke about the selling weed portion.. dude wasn't a low/mid level weed dealer, he was a straight up gangster..

High, drunk, on bars, lean while balling out in games? Now I realize why I was only an avg/above avg player.. apparently youre supposed to get F'd up BEFORE/During games and not afterwards.. while also possibly shooting some rounds off, stealing a car or 2 then head to McDonald's for 5 double cheeseburgers paying using counterfeit $$

mike1498 11-28-2017 06:38 PM

Honestly if he cared he would've already stopped. I'm not saying it's an easy thing but it's been done. I have so much respect for Tyrann Mathieu because he was on the same path as Gordon but he woke up and realized it wasn't worth it. Now he's the highest paid safety and who knows if josh Gordon was to say sober he could've been the highest paid WR.
