My Paul Pierce RC PC
With his number heading up to the rafters in a couple of weeks I felt the need to finally organize this collection into Flickr. One of my collecting goals for 2018 is to acquire less and enjoy what I have more. That means taking the time to organize and upload my PCs.
This is the link to the Flickr album. I am NOT going to post each card individually here. If I counted correctly there are 81 unique cards so far in the album. I have a couple out at PSA being slabbed right now, and one that I can't find! (I have a bad feeling I thought it was a duplicate and sold it ) Album link: https://flic.kr/s/aHsmadY6Pv I will post two picks from the album though. My favorite. His only licensed rookie auto in a pro uniform. I bought this right when I got back into collecting for around $20 and submitted it to BGS myself. I'm thinking maybe a test card of some sort, or something off of a cut sheet? I honestly have no idea what it is, but it is Pierce rookie year related to I picked it up! Great stuff Steve, keep up the good work.

Really enjoyed looking through those. Thanks for sharing. Sometimes you need to appreciate all cards of a player including low end. They all tell a story and have history.

Really like the Topps autograph card. I still don't get why SkyBox couldn't get him to sign on for the Autographics program back then.

Thanks everyone! I truly appreciate all the positive feedback. This is they main focus of my collecting habits. There are a lot of hours in this collection!
Really like the Topps autograph card. I still don't get why SkyBox couldn't get him to sign on for the Autographics program back then.
I have no idea either. I wasn't collecting back then so I can't comment on what might have been going on. I can say that he signs a lot less than other players. He has VERY few Fleer brand autos, and even fewer Panini autos. He hasn't signed for Panini since 09-10 and I think all of those were just a few sticker autos. I don't believe he has signed for any card company at all since 12-13 Fleer Retro by UD. As for the Topps I am glad that is all he has. Rather than chasing multiple RC autos it is all about having that one card. The UD is nice, but the Topps is the pro uni! |
Nice collection, only a few more to go.
|
Pierce is almost criminally undervalued. No disrespect to Dirk or VC, but the fact their TC Refractors go for 5x and 3x more than Pierce is insane to me.
|
Very nice man. I actually picked up my first TC ref not too long ago. Keep it up

Thanks. I need to go through Beckett soon and make a master list of what I need. I'm going to keep searching for the rare ones. I know I need: 98-99 Bowman's Best Best Performers Refractor /200 (the atomic /50 is at PSA) 98-99 Fleer Brilliants 24K Gold /24 98-99 EX Credentials Future /9 98-99 Stadium Club #203 One of a Kind There are four Masterpiece 1/1s out there. Each of the 3 Fleer Legacy cards and a Fleer Ultra RC. I will never get any, but if I could only have one I would love the Fleer Ultra. There are also a couple of plates from Stadium Club out there. Not my thing, but if the price was right I'd grab one. Other than that I'm not sure what else is out there. I know Beckett lists an O-Pee-Chee rookie, but from what I understand series II basketball for 98-99 was never produced. |
Nice preview. Cant wait to check out your flickr.
I worked at a print shop for a few years and cut all kinds of cards too. Not sports, but business cards, wedding stuff, etc. I have seen may of those things like your TC Ref. Pierce card. It is just missing the final cut. There could be many reasons why someone would not bother to finish the job, and many stories to why someone decides to save it. Otherwise this would have been just cut to size or if they made enough cards already, this would have been trashed. It is a nice collector piece that is for sure. |

An amazing and beautiful collection indeed!
I agree with earlier posts about his underratedness. He lead the charge for a brilliant turnaround season and then run to and through the Finals at the expense of my Lakers. That game 6 blowout was embarrassing, but at least we got revenge two years later. |

I have never, and will likely never, watch the final 2 minutes of that game. I knew what was happening and turned it off. I have never seen the Lakers celebrate that one! |
There are actually 5, as a Gold 1/1 was in UD.

Have to say that I don't mind if SkyBox can also have him sign some for his rookie season, however, featuring him in draft night photo (check out many rookie Autographics from the 1998-99 season). :) |
I collect RC Autos and was able to get that Topps Pierce rookie year auto two years ago. I just had to have it. Got mine for around $40'ish. Grats on ur Pierce Pc, OP.

I never knew that. I just searched eBay for them. The Vince RC 1/1 is available for sale. Thanks for pointing that out. The rookie cards aren’t that special but the vet 1/1 golds look great. Now I have 5 possible 1/1s that maybe one day I could own. Honestly though I’d take the EX Credentials Future /9 10 times out of 10 over one of the 1/1s. |
Nice cards, great player. If I needed a bucket to tie or win the game, I'd put the ball in the hands of Jordan, Kobe, da Truth. Not necessarily in that order:D
|
great collection.......

Awesome collection. Love the Rookie cards. I have a collection of PP also but not even close to yours.
