Question about what to do - seller shipped PWE when I paid $3.50 in shipping
 

Received a card today that I bought off ebay that was shipped PWE. I have no qualms about buying cards and having them shipped PWE. Except, I paid $3.50 for shipping.

Im hoping this was an honest mistake (the person has 100% positive feedback) and plan to contact the seller and ask him/her to refund a reasonable amount of the shipping I paid. If they refuse, what course of action do I have besides leaving negative feedback. Can I work through ebay to get him to honor my request? I dont want to return the card as its an /10 that I need for a set Im building with my son.

Thoughts?

just politely ask for a $3 refund and if they refuse, drop a neg. That's a very negative customer experience in my eyes, especially if it's not corrected after being addressed.

A neg is harsh, but depending how the seller reacts it may be warranted.
Definitely ding him on the stars though.

Ebay will not do anything, he should refund you something. however if the card was at a good price and it arrived in the condition you expected a neg is pretty harsh. A neutral stating the issue would be fair.

Also becareful how you word your request the seller could easily turn that into feedback extortion and get anything you leave removed and you slapped with a policy violation if you word it wrong.

It costs more than 50 cents to ship PWE properly. around 2.00 to 2.50 would be fair. If he shipped it correctly it was a minimum of .71 cents

I can understand the frustration if the shipping was a $1.00 or so pending they secure it the best they can PWE would be reasonable but closing in on $4.00 that surely is a steep price for PWE. Prior to my brief hiatus on eBay I was doing free shipping and handling on Buy it Now and $3.00 shipping (with a deal of $1.00 off for every other auction won capped at free shipping) but that was in a padded mailer with topload/case and tracking.
