With the Topps chrome going up like bowman chrome did, how long before the Topps bgs9.5/PSA 10 going up a few 100 bucks?

If Aaron Rodgers wins another super bowl, you're still going to be able to count his SB wins on one hand.

I’ve noticed a huge increase as well. Just sold a BGS 9 Topps Chrome for $335 (they’d been selling for $240 pretty consistently). Scooped up a PSA 10 Topps for $120 before I wait too long again (like I did with Brady!!). Not going to make the same mistake of waiting too long for key PSA 10 QB RC’s... Now I try to get PSA 10 QB RC’s while they sell for $25, in hopes they have a good season/career. I think Rodgers has the potential to be the next Brady (as far as card prices go). He’s already either #2 or #3 as far as card prices anyway.

Edit: Just a few weeks ago PSA 10 Topps were selling for $80 ish. Now it’s $115+. Someone bought a lot of 10 for $124.99 each on eBay.

I live in Wisconsin and even here, I know a lot of people who still like Favre better than Rodgers. Aaron just doesn't have that 'it' factor to put him in that next level of pop culture like Brady(and Favre). Maybe it's just me though?

Nice sale on the TC, also on the PSA 10 for $120. I've been following the price increases since the end of last season and finally jumped in a couple weeks ago. I've been steadily buying since they started increasing from $80 up.

I was the person who bought the lot of 10 on eBay last week. I didn't quite pay $124.99, the seller and I went back and forth and landed on $117.50/each. Regardless, I believe with what's been happened with Brady prices and more recently Drew Brees, these are next up. I'm not comparing the careers of these three, but as you said, simply in terms of card prices.

You are correct that there is certainly the 'forever Favre' crowd here in Wisconsin, but not so much with people around my age (23). The love and admiration for Rodgers is real, and even goes a bit overboard in my opinion. Regardless, I love both. We've been fortunate to have such legends back to back.

Brady has the pretty boy looks that a large percentage of women love (and yes, that's part of the reason he's so popular). He also plays on a perennial winner team because of Billichek, so he's got a large bandwagon following as well. Couple that with the fact that he's a great QB, and that boosts him more.

Favre was the man's man of players. He was down to earth, fought his demons and beat them (for the most part), and if he was going to go down, he was going to go down fighting. Really hard to dislike someone that represents what most men want to be known for (persistence, perseverance, fighting against the odds, taking big risks and winning more than losing, etc).

Rodgers isn't a pretty boy, he's the normal gruff kind of guy. He's on a team that perennially underachieves (mostly because the GM and defense always let him down). He has a bandwagon following to a degree, but not quite on par with Brady. It doesn't help that he's so good that it looks effortless for him... Some people find it hard rooting for someone who has so much natural talent that it looks like they aren't even trying (I, for one, can't stand NBA basketball because it looks like everybody is putting in 10% effort most of the time, and only have a small bursts of effort for the rest of the 90% of the time... Just isn't interesting that way). He also grates on a lot of people's nerves because of his nonchalant attitude. It sort of stacks up to people not liking him.

If you've ever met Rodgers you would think quite opposite. He's a very down to earth guy. There are many stories that can attest to that. I've had a friend play some poker with him at the casino. I had another friend spend some time with him in the green room for his late show appearance last year while recovering from his broken clavicle. Favre on the other hand could be quite stand offish. But that was more later in his career.

Favre was more "fun" to watch and loved his grit, but I'll take Rodgers over him anyday.

I don't doubt that Rodgers is personable in person :) It's more of his perception from people who aren't fans of his through the media - he does come off as standoffish and sort of nonchalant. I was a huge fan of Favre back in the day, and I'm a huge Rodgers fan now, and I definitely agree it's awesome to be able to say I've seen in person 2 HOF Packers QBs the years they both won the Super Bowl :) Only thing I can say I personally experienced that was better than that (Packers related) is when I got to meet Reggie White at a football camp not far from where I grew up: that was AWESOME!

What a great story! I went to college at UW-Green Bay and worked at a Marcus movie theatre. One day Reggie and his family came to a movie, he had his family go in and sit down while he got popcorn and drinks. Guess who was working that concession that day. Me! He was so nice a polite and I'll never forget it.

That's definitely a fun story too :) He's definitely missed! Need more guys like him in the NFL for sure!

2005 Topps is not very condition-sensitive.

I think it could be, but the only thing stopping it could be the pop report and maybe another ring or two for Rodgers. It looks like there are nearly 3x more PSA 10s than the 2000 Bowman Brady, and there are so many ungraded copies of the Aaron Rodger's Topps card that look like they could grade a 10.

I want all of your Rodgers rookies and rookie parallels. PayPal burning a hole in my pocket.
