Panini no longer accepting expired redemptions
 

I read this today, thought it was on IG but can’t find it now. They said it was a recent policy change. Well, there goes one thing that they had going for them. Buyer beware!

Welp there goes the value of some older boxes

Hopefully they at least do something like UD where you can use them as raffle tickets

I don’t like it. Boxes should “expire” when the redemptions do. Panini has to buy all of the unopened wax back and eat the loss.

I was just watching a group break a couple days ago of some older NT on Layton and they hit a Giannis jumbo patch auto redemption, expired. But everypone commented, don't worry they'll still send it to you. Damn shame.

All it takes is 1 redemption to break the camels back and this was probably it. Haha. One person to say they're taking them to court...... SNAP! :)

I redeemed a durant auto years ago and got a Mario chambers auto in exchange after waiting years...



Ever since then if I pull a redemption its an instasell situation.

I redeemed a Dak NT RPA the day after the deadline and they refused to honor it. Wouldn't even send me a Lonnie Walker auto, I had to take points. Ludicrous!

People might want to be a little more careful about the wax they're stashing now. Can you imagine if Zion was a redemption in NT? I'm sure Panini will do everything to prevent that from happening, but this kind of scenario is bound to happen at some point.

how often does any company offer to fulfill expired fulfillment? I always thought once the expiration date was past, it was void. Who know you could fulfill something that expired 10 yrs ago.

So what's next for Panini?

A. Redemptions get further expiration dates
B. Reward points replace all redemptions
C. Nothing changes

Redemptions will expire after one year!:flex:

Curious if this decision has anything to do with the pending lawsuit that was brought against Panini.

HOPEFULLY they end here. I'm sure its become a burden for Panini for so many reasons..

trying to contact player/agent/whoever to get these signed
hearing from unhappy people that their redemption isn't being fulfilled, now more than even with the unfortunate passing of Kobe

Big name or not, if the signer cannot meet the deadline to get their signatures in time DO NOT INCLUDE THEM IN THE PRODUCT.

There is still a good amount of live Kobe autos in the early Panini product. The later stuff though? Lots of redemptions.

It sucks for a lot of people.

But at the same time Panini needed to do this because they're already so damn backlogged and unreliable for active redemptions. There are people still waiting over a year for stuff they redeemed. Enough is enough...get caught up and get your ish together, Hacklerboi.

Hopefully they would simply remove redemptions from their products. The answer is simply to reduce the amount of autographed cards. Sets like Prizm and Optics does not need autographed cards and if they do feel the need to include them, reduce them to one in 2-3 boxes. Sets like National Treasure, which depends on RPA, will remain the same, but the autos can be planned way ahead of time, since they can reduce the amount of autos from other sets.

Unfortunately, but what are they goin to do about the unexpired redemption fast break auto I have in hand and from 2019 in their system?

Hate to be the one to say it but wonder if all the questions they’ve been getting on Kobe redemptions was a catalyst for this.

Panini has bigger fish to fry then filling your redemptions people!

Like selling out of NT basketball on there site for $8,000 per box in a few months...

Everything is out the window for Panini at this point.... Gloves are off and it’s every man and last dollar for themselves. No one is driving this car anymore people.

I really hate redemptions. They shouldn't be put in a product to begin with if they wont honor them forever imo. In many cases it takes them a long time to get a redemption back to you. And at the same time they put a deadline on you for getting them in or else they expire. I find that kind of hypocritical. I have a feeling i know why they want them to expire. So they can use them for replacements. They're trying to fix one situation by taking away from another. Rob Peter to pay Paul. It's just a big mess.

This + the lawsuit mentioned earlier have to be the reason behind it. Optimistically looking at this situation, maybe this will be the caveat that requires more players to sign their cards on time. Obviously there will still be redemptions, but perhaps Panini can include this in their next contact and work toward limiting the redemptions. Or every box will have 150 points and we can go snag a Mareese Speights jersey card + $8.95 shipping.
