Info On This 2005 Bowman Misprint/Error?
I can’t find another instance of this card. The area where the sig is supposed to be is blank and there appears to be Gary Sheffield’s sig upside down by his face.
Has anyone seen this? How would PSA label this in a slab I wonder. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |
That’s pretty cool. Never seen a misplaced stamped facsimile before.

I believe PSA wouldn't grade it. They normally don't slab factory errors (like wrong backs) unless they're checklisted by someone else.

Me either! Makes me wonder where the Cabrera sig wound up. |

I found where the Miggy signature went! It went on my Gary Sheffield card! See attached.

That’s insane that you found the possible corresponding card! |
Makes sense; caused by loading the sheet for foiling stage in at 180 degrees from the rest of the print colors.

PSA would reject it, N9, factory misprint. I just submitted 4 cards that typically get this N9 reject code from PSA. They slabbed three of them this time, and rejected one. The three they slabbed: missing 'TOPPS' foil stamping on the front. Pretty easy to overlook. I've submitted this misprint before and had them rejected before and then on subsequent attempts have gotten them holdered with a number grade, so it just takes a few attempts, sometimes. The one they didn't slab: missing a foil-stamped serial number. I will submit this one again in the future and I suspect it will eventually get slabbed by PSA. If it's blatantly obvious that it's a major mis-print, like this card of yours, pretty much no chance PSA slabs it. It's too easy to spot that it's a mis-print and it should be rejected. But I would definitely send those cards in every bulk order ever submitted because the only cost you incur is shipping it both ways, and that's pretty much nothing extra if you're already sending 10+ cards for grading. N9 = no grading fee charged. Free! Returned to you raw, as you submitted it. Good luck! |

Info On This 2005 Bowman Misprint/Error?
CGC grades factory misprints like this and denotes “error” on the slab label under the numerical grade. You check off the error box next to the card info on the submission form. In case you’re looking to grade it.
