I know it's a retro design but these almost look like those listings you report on eBay for using the Rated Rookies trademark without Panini's permission. Decent pricing compared to current base card pricing and other Panini Instant. I'm still contemplating getting a set for the PC, but I have a hard time imagining this is a product people will try to flip

Nice to see the 1989 Donruss design. Probably won't buy one but will re-assess in a few days.

They are only being sold in pack?

No randomness in these sets as far as Panini has shared. For $60, you get 45 rookie cards (the players are listed in the link)

They should of had Zion in the Griffey pose.

picked up a set - I do dislike that they offer discounts for the more you buy but still seems like a good item to pick up in this market and just sit on for a while.

the set is 45 cards but 1 card cost 59 you can buy 5 packs at 239$ or 10 packs at 449$ or 25 packs at 999$ that's how I understand it

I see the tittle but the buying options don't correlate wit it, what exactly you think a 5 pack is, 5 sets?

Yes. Seems clear to me.

Did anybody else buy these? Panini hasn't shipped mine yet. Looks like Zions are selling for $30+ and sets are selling for $90+. Sustainability really depends on how many sets Panini sold.

My guess is that won’t last once everyone gets them. They gave huge discounts so many people probably bought 25 or 10 packs to flip. I would sell when you receive!

Did anyone confirm with Panini that these were full sets and not single or random packs of cards?

Some updates about this set that continue to baffle me.

First: I got an e-mail on June 26 that said: "We are writing in regards to your recent purchase of the 45-Card Rated Rookie Retro – 2019-20 NBA Instant Set. These particular sets are print to order and we have started the printing process. We anticipate the fulfillment of these orders to begin the week of July 6th."

The e-mail also said I would receive another e-mail once my package ships, which I have not received yet.

It seems to indicate that 3,431 of these sets were made (as the set shows 1/3,431 on the back). My assumption is that every set is listed the same (1/3,431) which is cool, in that it indicates the number of sets, but I wish they were actually serial numbered.

I also see that there are 1/1 versions of these with black borders, and I'm not sure where they come from.

Ultimately, I'm happy if only 3,431 sets of these were made.

Apparently there was a limited time set that would guarantee a 1/1 (so only 45 sets made, probably why none of us noticed), I heard about it in this post: [url]https://www.blowoutforums.com/showthread.php?t=1389771[/url]
