Does this mean Adell wont have a RC in Update? That doesn't bode well.

When does Series 1 typically release?

correct... Topps is being smart here.

Save Adell till 2021 and pump him a full year worth of products instead of a couple products this season.

If they go by the traditional rule of which RCs to include in Update, it will be pretty barren. Unless I'm not thinking of some bigger names.

I like the full border. Hope that sticks. The diagonal text looks cool too.

I don't think they're going to have any logo RCs in any late season products beyond the guys who already debuted last year, except the guys like Robert who were mortal locks to get there. The Topps Now debut cards are marked 'call-ups' like they did with Yordan last year. Early 2021 products should be stacked beyond belief that way, like 2005-06 hockey.

Why would he have an update rc? Isn't the traditional cut off around June 1 for a debut to get into update? We're in Aug already.

There is nothing traditional about this year. Why would anyone buy Update without any key rookies.

Early July content has historically been included in Update, but this year is different. If Topps wants update to be relevant, they'll need to include something from 2020 other than summer camp.

This looks like a Bowman design.

The diagonals are fine for containing the information, but the additional diagonals on the opposite side don’t serve a purpose and just make the card look unnecessarily busy. And what’s up with the tile look along the vertical borders?

Not liking this upon first impression.

2020 Update will be Prospect Driven

They need to stop with all the busy BS all over the card. Just go back to plain borders for the love of god.

Definitely steps in the right direction, just looks like they started with that design and changed a few things....

I pre-ordered from BO mid-September and it released on/around Feb 4, 2020 (got shipping notification Feb 4).

Hopefully pre-order prices will be reasonable again this year. Last year, the S1 jumbo case was $549 from BO mid-Sept, and started moving up soon after, so don't be late! :)!

I really like it. Tough to come out with something basic that is super unique these days so of course it’ll draw some similarity to other products. But I’m a fan. Borders and horizontal(ish) font - the way it should be.

I'd answer some of the questions here with a "typically, it's X" but there's nothing typical about this year or the card schedule to come.

I do suspect we'll probably get full details this week or next.

Perfect example of a nice simple design they created was 2019 On-Demand Reflections......best design they've done in years.

Update sells itself
