Who is Currently the Fifth Most Popular Player, Card-wise?
I feel a little stupid for posting this, but it's been bothering me a little today:
I saw a post last night that referred to the fact that the top five players in the current market sell for much higher than anyone else. Unfortunately, I'm getting old and I can't remember what thread this was in. I know the top four would be Trout, Tatis, Soto and Acuna, but I'm not positive who the fifth would be. Is it Mookie? Is this pretty much accepted across the hobby? Are there others currently in contention for that fifth spot? Thanks in advance! |
The fifth or top player not already listed seems pretty transient. If player X gets really hot at the plate, it could be Mookie, Robert, Arenado, Bellinger, Yelich or someone else. The hobby is fickle...lol

This is an odd but great question and I think Lonewolf is right. That 5th spot could be Dominguez or Luis Robert right now but it will definitely change once the real games start this week.

1-5?
In terms of buzz right now I'd wager the following. But, I'd say that 4-10 are likely interchangeable during certain weeks. 1. Tatis Jr. 2. Trout 3. Soto 4. Mookie 5. Acuna |

I have no clue what order these guys should be in...as its the same 4-5 all day, every day. But I do know that Gleyber Torres is the current flavor of the month on IG. People are falling over themselves looking for "deals".
Note...I own ZERO Torres cards. |

oh lord, are we about to argue over lists?
my least favorite thing to do is listen to people talk about their lists. NBA is the worst with it. As soon as the topic is top 5 all time players, i change the channel lol |
this is a good topic
#5 is probably a combination of flavor of the week, like Gleyber, Mookie, Witt Jr, Fatboy, Flo Bichette, etc. and they rotate in and out |
5. KBH

They will all be about the same in game impact by the end of the year. So hard to say who is best vs rest in this group. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Love them for who they are :)! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |
This is a spin on the lazy “Mt. Rushmore of blahblahblah” topic on sports radio.

I thought Chase Utley was #5.

A lot of teams have had Star Wars bobble heads as giveaways over the past few seasons. For the Blue Jays, a Bo Bichette/Boba Fett bobble head seems like the most obvious choice possible (as well as something I would definitely own). |

unclear if there is a unanimous fifth, but #216 is definitely Cavan Biggio.

#5 is probably Shawn Michaels. lol

I hadn’t followed Gleyber since he had an off year but I’m sitting on a dozen PSA 10 RC’s from 2018 Topps Chrome, Orange 2018 Bowman Auto, 2018 Snapshots Blue/B&W and a few Snapshots Autos. Guess I need to look into selling 1 or 2 since he’s the it player this week. |
Gleyber gonna go off for 75 HRs this season, 60 against the Orioles alone!

He tore up spring training so it’s no surprise people love him. He’s affordable compared to the big boys too. And he’s a Yankee. |
