e-bay Unpaid Item Dispute question
Opened an Unpaid Item Dispute with a buyer 10 days after auction ended. Left dispute open another 10 days. On Tuesday, I closed the dispute since there was never any response from the buyer nor payment recieved. This morning when I check my e-mail, there is a paypal payment from the buyer.
What should I do? Refund payment? SendCard? As for feedback? Positive Negative Neutral Any thoughts/opinions are appreciated. |
Take the Money and mail the card i would just leave a Positive Feedback like Received payment card mailed ....... And also remove the Dispute. 99% of the time after a Dispute and Fee returned thats the end of it, i have had a few who did pay with the old sorry this or that explanation. I just had a long time Buyer not pay for 2 items for over 6 weeks i held off on Dispute, he finally wrote a sorry story but did pay.

Not sure why you'd leave positive feedback when the experience wasn't that. Doing so would be like patting him on the back for paying late and giving him permission to do this everytime when winning auctions.
I think neutral feedback is perfect here. Negative wouldn't be appropriate since you got paid. |
jsut mail the card, put him on your block list and call it a day. I wouldn't even go as far as giving him any kind of feedback....why bother?
to me at least, any type of problem like that, once the transaction is complete im very quick to put a bidder on my block list, esp if its not for a high dollar item. Why? because i don't need the stress and there are millions of other people out there . |
I agree 100% with the captain. It's exactly what I do. No need to give any fb. You got the best of both: you got your fees credited and you got paid for the card. Send it out and call it a lucky situation.

Just another reason why the feedback system doesn't work.
I always pay immediately when I win an auction. I have 100% feedback because I earned every single one of the feedbacks that have been left for me. Not one time have I ever had an issue where it was my fault. Why should others be allowed to potentially have the same feedback as me, and others that work hard in doing the right thing, when they clearly don't do what they are supposed to, and they create headaches for others? This is going to sound harsh...but to NOT leave appropriate feedback when it's obviously necessary is selfish in my opinion. I believe you would be thinking of yourself and not others that may end up dealing with them. I won't hold it against any of you though. I think you all are top-rate, first class sellers. :)! I have purchased items from many of you, and the transactions could have never been better. |
I don't disagree about leaving appropriate Feedback, in over 9 years on eBay the 8 Negative Feedbacks against me where all retaliations for me posting Negative Feedback for non paying bidders. About 4 years ago i just started posting Positive even if they didn't pay and i have yet to have one of them non payers post a Negative. Why would i post a Positive for a bad transaction because 80% of the non payers i have dealt with ended up as Non Registered Bidders.

They would have been NARU'd sooner if you had been honest and left the negative they deserved. As to the question asked: You do have choices here as you are under no obligation to ship out the card since they didnt respond to the NPB dispute. Do you want to sell the card for what he paid you? If so then ship it. If you dont, refund his money and move on. As to feedback, a neutral is appropriate in this case. To leave a positive for a transaction like this is just wrong. I would rather see you not leave any feedback at all than do that. And I would block this person from bidding again and tell us their Ebay ID so we can all decide if we want them bidding on our auctions. If people cant pay in a reasonable amount of time or at least communicate with you what is going on, I wouldnt want them for a customer. There are many others out there. |
Thank to everyone for their input. I ended up mailing the card out when I got home from work. As for feedback, I'm going to wait and see if he leaves me feedback.
