Beckett Suspends Most Grading Services as of June 7

Gonna be a lot more raw cards available for a few months |
About time. They’ve lost a long time customer in me. Yeah, I know...”who cares”.

Me as well. It’s just so pathetic how little communication they’ve had with customers regarding order status and what’s going on since last summer. Say what you want about PSA, but at least they try to communicate about the challenges and investing for growth. These guys just bury their heads in the sand and rely on the Beckett namesake to carry them through this. |

These guys just bury their heads in the sand and rely on the Beckett namesake to carry them through this.[/QUOTE] I have four cards that will have been in Beckett’s hands for one year come July. The good news is that it’s money in the bank as all four cards have exploded in value. The bad news is that they still have my cards and NONE are showing in their pop report, so they still haven’t been graded (I assume). I’m done, Beckett. No more business from me after 23 years as a customer. |
I have only myself to blame.
Should have been consistently sending orders to the TPG's. Switched my focus to coins a year ago, and send in orders every three weeks on average. If I see my 100 PSA order by August, I will be tickled. Don't expect a similar BGS sub until sometime Spring 2022. Might have to try the new group. |
GREAT news - more cheaper wax for everyone!
|
Why would anyone grade with Beckett at all anymore? 9.5 premiums are the lowest they've ever been and I've seen at least one high end card where a BGS 10 went quite a bit lower than a PSA 10
|
I love how pointed the message is. The writing is on the wall. PSA is going to reopen and bring their A-game. Beckett has no choice but to talk trash because they're about to get crushed.

Beckett grading will cease to exist in a few years
|
I am a Beckett loyalist. I prefer nearly every aspect of their service to PSA.
I, like many others, have had some extremely poor experiences with Beckett the last year or so and I temporarily suspended them. I’m not sure when, or if, I’ll ever submit another order. My entire PC is in BGS/BVG slabs. I hope they can turn it around. |

Well if that's true, then BGS graded cards graded before the 2021 "Bubble Burst" should only increase in value wishful thinking |

What makes you say this? Customers don’t seem to be abandoning them, and they seem to be maintaining market share vs. PSA. What would cause them to exit when they are so strong? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Pick only one: 1) Cease to exist. 2) Cease to accept new orders because they have too much existing business they need to process. |

As long as BGS 9.5 keeps its significant premium over PSA 9, it seems like they should retain a strong following Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Screw “premiums” most here couldn’t get by without, their holders offer the best protection. |

This. I’m not trying to flip BGS cards. I’m preserving them for my personal collection. |
What am I supposed to do with my Bowman Futurist inserts?

Well, they can all fall like dominos now..... 1st PSA, which overloads BGS, which will have a tidal wave of new submissions to _______, and then they will...

….make the new kids on the block the default go-to TPGs. |

Third party graders |
The golden goose has officially been cooked....
|
I feel like this was bound to happen sooner or later because of everyone trying to grade every Justin Herbert base card (just an example) because it is the it thing to do. I personally always thought a third party grade was for rare cards right? If people would stop sending in their base second year Zion cards.......
|
I think gaming card submissions contributed significantly as well.
